Loving Yourself with Art for a Little While 12

It has gotten suddenly colder,
making you want to spend time relaxing at home, right?

This is perfect for that "me time"💮
Zentangle® time!

Today we will draw a certain tangle again,
and since you really just draw lines in silence,
I think it has a perfect meditative effect!😊

Here is what you need to prepare 👇

・Paper (5cm square this time, business card size is also OK)
・Fine-point pen (if you plan to color later, use oil-based or pigment ink! Regular water-based pens are a no-go)
・Pencil (preferably a darker one)
・Cotton swab (or tissue paper if you don't have one)
・Colored pencils or coloring pens would also be nice to have

Before you start drawing, first take adeep breath
Inhale... Exhale...
Take a moment
to begratefulthat you can draw like this...✨

Alright, let's go!

Dots and borders are omitted today.
Start right away with two S-curves using your pen.

Why does it look like blue paper??
Even though it's white paper.

Now we're going to grow some hair on the S-curves.

Heavy metal?

Keep drawing the hair so that it spreads out.
When you reach the end of an S-curve, change direction,
or try mixing in lines
from the other S-curve...

Really, just clear your mind
and let your lines run, centering on the S-curves.

See? At this point, nothing like it exists anywhere else.
One of a kind.

Sorry for the blurry photo!

You could also use a pencil here for shading.
But today, I felt like adding some color!

I used watercolor pencils.
Again, please feel free to do whatever you like!

Imagining the colors of the sky
around sunset or dusk.

Once you've finished coloring, switch to your pencil
and let's start shading~

I want it to look like various lines are
gathering at the first S-curve,
so let's make sure to apply plenty of pencil graphite~

Where lines overlap,
apply the pencil to the one that goes underneath.

Can you tell where I applied the pencil?

And now, shading!
Doesn't it look like it's undulating?
Spread the black pencil graphite onto the parts
that would be turning underneath the undulations.

Is it a bit hard to see?💦

Bonus!
On the undulating curves,
you can also apply a white colored pencil
to the parts that look like they are raised!

However, regular colored pencils are oil-based, so they might not blend well.
I recommend a pen called a "white chalk marker," but
once you add a touch of white, doesn't it look even more
prominently raised and shining? (lol)

I thought it looked like an endoscopy image... that's just me though💦

And... done!!

This tangle is called "Sena."
Once you decide on the S-curve, just keep undulating,
adding C-curves.

You could make the spacing between the C-curves tighter.
That's up to your preference♬

I used color this time, but it also has a strong impact
in monochrome too😊
(Actually, I prefer it that way (lol))

It looks like this👇

What's wonderful about it (don't toot your own horn, I know)
is that I drew this on a 5cm square piece of paper,
and it can be finished in about 10 minutes if you're fast!

Even if you're busy,
don't you think you could manage this?

Plus, with this "Sena",
since you're just drawing lines,
you can stop halfway through,
so you can do it in small chunks!

If you're feeling really frustrated,
it's also okay to just scribble lines, lines, and more lines
on a large piece of paper (lol)

You can draw it in 2 minutes x 5 days!
Wait, does that sound too busy? (lol)
#WhatAreWeTalkingAbout

Draw the same line over and over.
As you draw, you gradually start to calm down.
This creates a meditative effect.

To "center your mind,"
please try drawing tangles that involve repeating simple strokes
slowly and carefully!

And what you must not forget is

No Mistake!

There are no right or wrong answers; each one is art.
Above all, it is a time for you to enjoy yourself
and calm your mind.

In your busy daily life, just a little bit is fine 😊
Get your paper, pen, and pencil ready,
and pleaseenjoy your "me time"!
