Loving Yourself with Art for a Little While 8
March is such a busy time, isn't it...
That's exactly when you need Zentangle®! (I say that all the time, haha)
If you'd like, please try playing with it over the weekend♬
...with that feeling in mind, I'm posting this at this hour!

This time, it'srepeating curved tangles😊
I'm sure you'll be able to clear your mind and focus!
Please prepare the usual items below ⇓
・Paper (this time, 9cm square, drawing paper, etc.)
・Pen
・Pencil (preferably a darker one)
・Cotton swab (or tissue paper if you don't have one)
Before drawing, take a deep breath first.
Inhale... Exhale...
For a little while, be grateful that you can draw...🌸
Now, let's get started!
First, place dots in the four corners,
and connect them with lines (border).

Next, let's divide one side into four parts.
Place a dot near the center, and then dots at half of that half.
Connect those dots to the opposite side to divide it into 16 sections!

After the strings, switch to your pen.
In each vertical section, connect them with C-curves.

I'll draw them all.

Next, symmetrically (in the opposite direction) to the wavy lines you just drew,
let's repeat the C-curves again!

Similarly, draw them horizontally as well.
If it's hard to draw, rotate your paper 90 degrees!
Once you've drawn them all, it looks like this👇

Next~
Imagine a diagonal line within the divided section and
let's draw a C-curve and a reverse C-curve!
It's like having thin leaves going in diagonally🍃

Draw the opposite diagonal line the same way too.
Now, what's important here is“Draw behind”
a basic rule of Zentangle drawing,
which is to "draw behind."

Let's try drawing with a C-curve
so that it looks like there is another leaf
behind the leaf we drew first!

That's it for the pen work!
Now, let's switch to a pencil✐
and do the long-awaited shading♫
(Wait, is it just me? lol)
At the intersection where the leaves gather,
and at the boundaries where the leaves overlap,
add color with a pencil.

Where they overlap, add pencil to the bottom side
Now, finally, let's spread the pencil dust
with a cotton swab (or a tissue, etc.)
around~(^^♪
It looks beautiful if you leave the center of the leaves white!

All done✨
Hold your artwork in your hand, stretch out your arm,
and take a look at it.
You drew something wonderful again today💮

How was it??
The strings are straight lines, but
after that, you just draw C-curves with a pen!
It's the same stroke over and over again.
Decide which parts you want to show in front,
and add shadows with a pencil
to the parts that overlap or are adjacent to them.
Just doing this suddenly changes the picture~!
This tangle is called "Bales."
In the first half where the circles are lined up,
I often draw various tangles
inside the parts surrounded by leaves.
But I tried something a little different🍃
This is another way to enjoy it too♬

I added patterns (tangles) inside the leaves!
Adding lines, adding circles.
Even just this makes it look even more complex~😊
Coloring the leaves row by row is also nice(・∀・)!!
Zentangle is freedom🍀
And above all else
No Mistakes
Even if you think, "I made a mistake💦"
it turns into an unexpected piece of art.
So, there are no mistakes😊
(I personally think this has something in common with "#WhatAreYouTalkingAbout"
(lol))
Please enjoy drawing various things!

🌸A Secret Announcement🌸
Actually, I am currently
participating in an exhibition in Osaka
held by the 36th CZT class, who are my seniors.
(We are displaying group and individual works, and I'll be doing a workshop too~)
I won't be there every day, but I will be there at some point.
If you live in the Kansai area and are interested in art,
please come and visit!✨
There are workshops by other teachers as well!
