I own two MacBooks.
One is my main machine, the M1 MAX MacBook Pro 14-inch (1TB storage).
The other is my entertainment machine, the MacBook Air 11-inch 2015 model (128GB storage).

Now, let's dive right into what makes the MacBook so appealing!

Conclusion

If you only use a PC for simple tasks, the MacBook is excellent and highly recommended!
Honestly, you probably wouldn't have many complaints with a Windows machine either, but if you are an Apple product user (iPhone or iPad), the seamless integration will leave you amazed.

When I bought a base model MacBook Pro five years ago, I felt “It’s damn expensive!” but as I continued to use it, there were many times I felt “I’m glad I chose a MacBook.”

MacBook Advantages

1. Typing is comfortable

I’ve gotten used to the MacBook keyboard now, and its typing comfort is top-notch.

The typing feel varies slightly depending on the model year or whether it's a Pro model. While it comes down to personal preference, I think many people love the MacBook keyboard.

2. The trackpad is super excellent

The best thing about a MacBook is the trackpad!
I feel like many people think this way. The smoothness and the click feel are irresistible♬

3. Thin chassis and lightness

Actually, I was the same. There is no reason to carry it around. I don't use it for work, either.

4. Comfort even for light tasks (specs)

Even the base model, known as the"8GB memory, 256GB storage"is plenty comfortable. Even the 2017 MacBook Pro I used before was truly comfortable. If your purpose is text work or similar, it can handle it easily, and with an M1 class, you can experience power & silence even in daily use.

The current macOS supports models as far back as the 2017 MacBook.
If you want to use Universal Control in conjunction with an iPad, you will need to purchase a 2017 model or later.

If you were to purchase a 2017 model, it might be difficult to support the next macOS.
However, if you only need security updates, you can use it safely and securely for about another four years. (Prediction)

・Display and sound quality

For my main machine, the M1 MAX, I am very satisfied with both the display and sound quality!
However, I hear that some people are dissatisfied with the "sound quality" or "display"of devices like the MacBook Air.

Furthermore, there are many Windows machines that are particular about display and sound quality, so it might be wise not to have excessive expectations in this area.

・It is not an all-purpose machine

Windows machines can output enough power to play games. However, the MacBook is not a machine dedicated to such games.
The apps that can be used are also different from those on Windows machines.
Although there is a wide range of alternative software, there are also many overseas apps, so they might be a bit difficult to get into.

Since what you can do and what it is suitable for will be a little different, please check for yourself what kind of software you will use.

- There are times when you will need a separate hub or docking station

This is a point to note.
MacBooks have extremely few ports.

For everyday use, an affordable hub will suffice, so I recommend purchasing one. The fact that it doesn't have as many ports as Windows machines can feel like a disadvantage.

It's fine if you are someone who has specific things you want to do with a high-spec MacBook machine, though...

In that case, you could just sell it, but rather than buying it that way, if you haven't decided what you will use it for, a MacBook Air is plenty.

Honestly, I feel that the M1 MAX specs are unnecessary for me. (Why did I buy it lol)

I did have things I wanted to do. (Though I haven't done them yet...)
1. Video streaming (Vtuber, etc.)
2. Video editing (side job)

I was so enthusiastic, thinking that if I was going to do it, I would make it a stream that could be converted into money! (Currently in the middle of a major setback.)

Well... I haven't been able to do it, but I still have the desire to try, and above all, I used the first 2017 MacBook model I bought quite frequently in my own way.
