You can figure that out if you just think about it for a second
"You can figure that out if you just think about it for a second"
Sometimes I find myself saying that to myself.
When I'm rushing around,
when I'm feeling exhausted,
or when I'm feeling unsettled,
it can be hard to calm down and think clearly, can't it?
Just the other day,
two elderly women I was talking to about phishing emails
said something very similar.
There are points you would notice if you thought about them carefully,
and there are hints if you look closely enough.
However,
when your mind or body isn't in its normal state,
there are times you just don't notice them.
At times like that, more than anything else,
"noticing that about yourself"
and
"honestly accepting that about yourself"
is what allows you
to regain a calm mindset and perspective.
As long as you're living, there will be days when you're rushing around,
days when you're exhausted, and days when you're feeling unsettled.
Instead of feeling bad about that in itself,
it might actually be more important
to accept yourself as you are and have a plan for what to do at those times.
I hope that today, too,
you will take care of yourself first.
