The story of a middle-aged woman who got her first comment on note
When I got my first comment on note,
my already loose emotions became even more mushy.
Someone read it.
That alone is the story of how I reacted surprisingly strongly.
You know that feeling of "it's nice to be read",
(please assume that you do).
★★★
I posted an article on note.
It was my first post.
I thought it didn't matter if it wasn't read.
I was pretending to think that.
But in reality, I wanted it to be read just a little... no, actually quite a bit.
After posting, a sense of restlessness spread to every corner of my body,
so I decided "this is bad" and took a bath.
I decided that this was definitely a "bath situation."
While soaking in the tub, I thought about various things.
"The possibility that someone is reading it right now is... not zero," or
"What if it is being read? That's scary in its own way," or
"No, no, it's better for my mental health to think it's not being read."
In short, my thoughts hadn't stopped at all.
While soaking in the hot water to calm my feelings, a unanimous state of confusion was progressing inside my brain.
When I was drying my hair, my smartphone rang.
A notification from note.
At this stage, I felt my heart rate jump a little.
The screen said "Comments: 1".
It took about 12 seconds from seeing those words to opening it.
In other words, I wasn't in a mental state to react immediately.
Deep down, the theory that "this might be an automated reply from note management" even surfaced.
The comment was real.
It was from someone I didn't know, and what's more, they had actually read my article.
Here, my emotionsquietly exploded.
That said, I didn't scream or cry.
Specifically, an intermediate sound like "Ohhh..."
which I don't know what language it was, just leaked out of my mouth.
I still don't know who it was directed at. For now, it was toward the wall.
As for what I did after that, I think I was pacing around the room.
While walking, I kept asking myself,
"How should I process this feeling?"
Even though it's about me, I don't know how to process my heart.
Surprisingly, emotions don't come with a manual.
I replied to the comment carefully.
I wrote, deleted, re-selected my words, and wrote again.
After repeating this a few times, I finally arrived at a place where I thought, "This might be okay."
The character count is short, but
I intended to pack my feelings into it tightly.
It's probably as dense as a block of freeze-dried tofu.
I want to leave it to the recipient to decide whether the flavor soaks in.
After that, it somehow felt like "a day when something happened,"
and I remained quietly in the afterglow.
I pretended to be as calm as possible, but
the fact that "my note got a comment"
was blinking vaguely in my brain the whole time.
I think I'll go to sleep quietly tonight without doing a dance of joy.
But if I get another notification,
I think I'll probably say "Ohhh..." again.
And then, I'll be a little troubled again.
That is my prediction for now.
