Reason 1: Your "mental strength" will be forged to an extraordinary level.

The biggest challenge on YouTube is playing the "mental game."

Unlike TikTok or Instagram, it doesn't give you immediate satisfaction (dopamine). Since you are neither a celebrity nor an influencer, the view count of the first video you post will likely be in the double digits. There is almost no engagement, and needless to say, the number of subscribers is minimal.

At first, no one is interested in your videos. Honestly, why should they care? They have their own lives and a mountain of things to think about.

The only reason they will pay attention to your videos is one thing.Only when you provide "value" in some form through your videos.Whether it's resonating with them, teaching them something, or moving their hearts.

And especially when you are just starting out, that is not an easy thing to do. Trial and error, analysis paralysis, uncertainty about the next move... you have to face all of these alone.

However, what matters is to keep going.

Even the world's most famous YouTuber, Mr. Beast, needed over two years and more than 100 video uploads to reach his first 1,000 subscribers.

It is truly difficult to maintain momentum when it seems like no one cares. In the first six months after I started my business, I only earned 200 yen. I felt like giving up many times and returning to being a salaryman. But those hellish days turned my spirit into steel.

As an athlete, you should understand the meaning of these words to your very core. A video with zero views is not a trial meant to break your spirit. It is the ultimate training to forge your mental strength to a level that no one can beat.

Reason 2: Your 'skills' will improve at lightning speed through practice.

Building a YouTube channel is the process of self-growth and self-improvement itself. Each video is a perfect opportunity to step out of your comfort zone, learn new things in your field of expertise, practice, and improve by even 1%.

Rather than watching hundreds of videos on how to succeed on YouTube, you will learn far more by posting a single video yourself.

I run a 'Business x Sports' specialized channel, and over the past few years, I have learned how to speak more comfortably without feeling awkward in front of the camera.

This is why Mr. Beast only broke through after posting over 100 videos. His massive video portfolio taught the algorithm 'who Mr. Beast is' and started delivering his videos to the right audience.

Your job isn't to suck up to the AI.

It's to educate and dominate the AI with an overwhelming amount of content.

We don't understand everything from the start. When I started my channel, I initially focused on abstract themes like 'business and sports philosophy.'

I made a few educational videos, but none of them stood out much. After that, I created a video focusing on a more specific problem: 'Why do former athletes struggle with their second careers?'. I didn't expect any major results, but in the end, it performed better than any of my other videos at the time.

This made me think, 'Maybe people are interested in the cultural aspect of athletes' second careers.' Perhaps it was because there weren't many videos like that yet.

So, I created an even more specific video titled, '7 Weapons for Former Athletes to Succeed in Business.'

As of today, this is one of my most-watched videos and has brought in most of my current subscribers.

Making videos about athlete careers wasn't even on my mind when I started. This shows that you learn what your audience likes as you go..

A video with zero views is not a failure.
It is valuable 'market data' that tells you, 'This doesn't resonate.'

By accumulating that data, you will be able to understand more deeply than anyone else what your community (customers) truly wants, what they struggle with, and what they are passionate about.

By doing so, you will know where you can truly provide value and be able to maximize opportunities when they arise.

Reason 6: You will have the 'influence' to change someone's life.

One of the reasons people watch YouTube is to gain value.
Either to learn something or to be entertained.

It's one or the other.

If your channel provides either of these, it is worth continuing. And if even one person says, 'I learned a lot from you' or 'Your video motivated and inspired me,' that alone has value.

Because, if one person says that, there are many more who feel the same way.

It's just a matter of you not having found them yet.

These lessons on YouTube growth can basically be applied to everything in life. If you have a goal, accepting the steps to get there, especially the difficult ones, will help you achieve it.

Like showing up for training every week even when you don't feel like it. Like prioritizing nutrition even when life gets busy. Like getting out of bed when it feels like the hardest thing in the world.

And, choosing to rest strategically without guilt.

You make these small decisions that shape your overall growth. Small changes made regularly become big results over time.

Discipline is choosing what you want most over what you want now.
