🐶 Me, who is always thinking, and this little one who only sees the ball
Lately,
I feel like my mind has been constantly racing.
Was that the right thing to do?
Is it okay to keep going like this?
Even though I know thinking about it won't give me an immediate answer,
before I know it, I'm going in circles again.
Right beside me,
this little one is thinking about something completely different.
Or rather,
they are probably not thinking about anything at all.
They react to the sound of a treat bag,
but other than that, they are just relaxed.
Today is Sunday,
I am a little tired,
and this little one is just as they always are.
When we go out into the garden,
they bring that ball over
without a moment's hesitation.
Even though there are several toys,
when it's time to play in the garden,
it's always just this ball.
When I throw it, they run,
bring it back in their mouth,
and give me a look that says they want me to throw it again.
I don't think they are
thinking about any reasons why.
They just
"like this"
and that's all.
As I watched them,
I forgot about the things I had been thinking about
just a little bit.
Maybe this is what
it means to rest.
Without trying to fix anything,
or trying to be positive,
just doing what you like,
feeling satisfied,
and getting a little sleepy.
Maybe that alone
is enough.
This little one,
ate a treat,
played with the ball,
and now seems satisfied.
As for me,
it's not that my thoughts have completely vanished,
but things are a little quieter than before.
I'm sure that from tomorrow,
the days of overthinking will begin again.
But today,
I feel like I was able to imitate
this little one's way of resting just a little.
