Back when it took 24 hours to fix one thing. A story about how AI images have become a little easier now

After work, I got on the train and
sent a LINE message to my family.

The "Otsukaresama" (Good job) Sheepun stamp
that I send every day.

A little while later,
my family replies with the same stamp.

Nothing special, just our usual exchange.

Come to think of it.

This Sheepun,
was something I gradually brought to life together with Nano (ChatGPT).

I remembered that I struggled a bit to make it.

Recently, after reading Hide-san's article,
it reminded me, "Come to think of it..."

■ About when I made Sheepun

When I made Sheepun,
honestly, I struggled a bit.

That was a year ago (Spring 2025).

I made one,
and then I made another.

When I lined them up, they somehow looked different.

They didn't feel like they were in the same world,
and I remember redoing it many times.

■ It was even harder when I tried to animate them

When I tried to change poses for LINE stickers, it didn't go as well as I had hoped.

Changing expressions, or changing poses.

But in the middle of it, it would turn into a completely different character.

There were times I thought, "Who is this?"

And the hardest part was the time.

Even if I wanted to fix one thing, I couldn't fix it right away.

There were times when a single correction took 24 hours.

Honestly, I got a little tired.

I hated that, and I remember paying for a subscription.

■ Things are a little different now

Recently, I've been asking Nano for images, and I suddenly thought,

“Huh, this might be better than before”

Of course, it's still not perfect.

Japanese text is sometimes close but not quite right.

But it has reached the point where it's just "close."

The other day, when I made an image turning AI models into characters, I asked Nano, and it got them all right on the first try.

Even though they are all different,
they are lined up with the exact same style.

The
sense of discomfort because they didn't match that I felt back then was gone.

Moreover, these characters.

The original composition was also thought up by Nano.

When I asked the Kanamin editorial department members with just one word,
"Give me an image,"

they came out exactly as I had envisioned.

I was honestly a little surprised
at how easily it could be done.

If my self from a year ago saw this,
I think they would be quite surprised.

■ I feel like my distance from AI has changed a little

Back then,
rather than "using AI,"
it felt like I was "adjusting to AI."

But now,

I feel like,
just a little, AI is coming closer to me.

Before, it was hard just to "get it into shape," but

now I can try putting it out there as soon as I think of it.

It's not that AI has become perfect.

But,
when I think "I want to fix this,"
I can try it immediately.

This difference

was bigger than I thought.
