A Hilarious One-Woman Show Starring My Daughter
This morning.
My daughter came downstairs and said she wanted to eat watermelon.
She's gotten much better at handling a kitchen knife, but she still seems a bit scared of it.
So, I piled up some cut watermelon for her in a ramen bowl.
My daughter finished eating.
Daughter: "All done!"
Me: "Alrighty."
Daughter: "Clean up after you eat. Okay!"
Saying that, she took the bowl to the kitchen.
When she came back,
Daughter: "Put the salt back where it belongs. Okay!"
Me: "Pfft, haha!"
Daughter: "Wash it properly. Mommy is busy, you know.
If you don't do it, I won't make it for you anymore.
Okay!"
The words my daughter used in her one-woman show were all things I say every day.
She played both roles, cleaning up with a smile.
The air around her was sparkling, pink flowers were in full bloom, and she looked like she was having a great time.
I wish she would always do things like this.
I know full well that it will take a little more time for that to happen!
If I get impatient, I lose!
She looks like she's having fun, so that's good enough! 💛
