[Fighting Brain Tumors] Brain Tumor Results Announcement~
As you get older, you discover illnesses you never would have imagined when you were young.
And they come in waves.
That said, I've known about the brain tumor for eight years.
Back then, I had it checked by a doctor at a university hospital,
and was told it was benign, so we would just monitor it.
I was supposed to have an annual checkup to keep an eye on it,
but I hated that doctor lol.
No, I really hated him lol.
Seriously, he was such a jerk I wanted to pick a fight with him.
He was the type who acted like, 'I am a doctor!'
It made me want to ask him,
Are you living in the Showa era?
Thanks to that, I haven't gone back in eight years lol.
However, after getting breast cancer, I thought I might as well have the brain tumor checked at the same hospital,
so I had an MRI the other day, and today was the results announcement.
Actually, since I've been feeling dizzy sometimes,
I had a feeling it might have grown.
So, when I heard it had grown by about 4 millimeters,
I was shocked, but it was also like,
I knew it.
But there's no point in just being shocked here.
The fact that it grew means it will continue to grow in the future.
If the tumor could speak, it would probably say,
'If humans can grow in eight years, isn't it natural for us to grow too?'
So, I can't complain about it growing.
If that's the case, I have no choice but to think of a way to deal with it.
I mean, getting breast cancer and then having a tumor grow on top of that,
you'd normally think, 'How unlucky can I be?'
But I think to myself,
I was lucky.
Because if I hadn't gotten breast cancer,
I surely would have left the brain tumor alone.
I wouldn't have had the checkup, and surgery would have been my only option.
But by then, I would be much older than I am now.
I don't even know if I would have been able to have surgery.
So, I really think I was lucky.
So, I asked the doctor.
Me: 'Is there any way to suppress it with medication or something?'
I figured it probably wasn't possible lol,
but it doesn't cost anything to ask lol.
Doctor: 'Well, as for medication...'
It seems that, as I thought, while there is medication, it's not expected to be effective.
Doctor: 'It's not medication, but there is a treatment similar to radiation.'
When I asked, it seems to be something called CyberKnife.
I haven't heard the details yet, so I'm not sure.
Doctor: "It's not something that will have an immediate effect.
Even if we start treatment, it might only stop the progression..."
From the doctor's perspective, it's benign and only grew 4mm in 8 years, so
he feels it might not be necessary to go that far.
Even so, it is definitely progressing.
Whether it's slow or not, it doesn't matter.
The only things you're happy to see grow are children and crops in a field.
I don't know anything about farming, though lol
As for me, rather than leaving it alone and needing surgery in the future,
I want to treat it now.
If it comes to surgery by any chance,
my daughter will panic again.
My absence will make the dog's PTSD worse.
Me: "I'll do it! Please treat it!"
The doctor smiles slightly at me, as I eagerly demand treatment.
He probably thought it would be inappropriate to laugh out loud lol
It would be easier for me if he did laugh, though.
I guess you're not supposed to laugh at a brain tumor patient lol
Doctor: "You're really going to do it?!"
It seems he really thinks I don't have to do it.
But once I decide to do something, I go all the way!
In my head, Osamu Hayashi-sensei is saying"Do it now!"Besides, I don't want to think later that I should have done it.
Doctor: "I think one session is enough, but let's do three just to be safe."
Oh, so it could really be done in one session?
That means it's probably safe to be optimistic.
And so, following [Fighting Breast Cancer],
[Fighting Brain Tumor]articles have been launched.
Man, my life is never short of things to write about lol
