My Daughter's Shelter

My son-in-law snores loudly.
Even though he's young, he snores so loudly that it makes the cat jump.
His snoring is so loud, and he even stops breathing sometimes,
which isn't normal.

As for my daughter, she can't sleep because of that snoring.
Even if she manages to fall asleep, the noise wakes her up with a start.
However, my daughter doesn't work and has no income,
so she can't buy the things she wants on her own.

That's where I get dragged into it.

Daughter: "Mom, I can't sleep because the snoring is so loud.
So, I want this."

When I looked, it was a dome-shaped bed that could serve as a shelter.

Certainly, if she puts this in the next room,
she can keep warm and escape the snoring.
But I don't have money to spare either.
So,

Me: "Son-in-law, buy this for her."
Son-in-law: "What's that?"
Me: "A bed."
Son-in-law: "Who's going to use it?"
Me: "Your wife."
Son-in-law: "She doesn't need it, does she?"
Me: "Yes, she does. Your snoring is extraordinary.
It's so loud that every time she can't sleep, she summons me.
It's really tough, you know."
Son-in-law: "You're fine, Mom."
Me: "What do you mean I'm fine!"
Son-in-law: "LOL. Is my snoring really that bad?"
Me: "It's enough to surprise the cat."
Son-in-law: "I see."

After that, I kept telling him that his snoring and apnea might be a medical condition,
and by repeating that he should buy the bed, I finally got it.

It finally arrived, but
it was too difficult to assemble alone,
so I was called over again.

I helped, but it was tough even for two people.
We managed to finish assembling it, but
I couldn't help but complain
that it would have been nice to at least have a simple instruction manual.

Still, when we finished assembling it, it felt enclosed,
just like a fortress.
It has a hideaway feel,
and it's cozy.

Since it can be placed quietly in the next room,
I probably won't be summoned every single time anymore.
Now I can rest easy.

Then I thought,
since humans can feel this secure in it,
I'm sure dogs would be happy if they had a bed like this.

……

And then I thought further,
if she were to get sick and become unable to move,
this ceiling would get in the way, and I wouldn't be able to pick her up.

No, this won't do, this won't do at all.

So, it became a fortress for humans only.
Even so, I bet it'll be hot in the summer lol.
