Is it better not to cut grass too short!?!?

When mowing the grass, I used to think
the shorter I cut it, the easier the next mowing will be. Above all, there is a sense of accomplishment when you cut it so cleanly that you can see the ground!

But recently, I learned that

cutting grass too short can actually be counterproductive💦

What happens if you cut it too short?

When you cut grass down to the ground, sunlight hits the soil directly more easily.

This makes weed seeds dormant in the soil more likely to germinate, and new grass will grow rapidly.

Furthermore, the surviving grass may
grow vigorously as it tries to sprout leaves again

"I cut it short, but the grass grew back faster than I thought..."

I'm sure some of you have had that experience, right?

The idea of leaving some grass when mowing

There is a way to intentionally leave some grass when mowing!

By not completely exposing the ground, you can:

・Prevent soil from drying out
・Suppress weed germination
・Prevent soil erosion

Therefore, it slows down growth, and as a result, you can reduce the number of times you need to mow!

Let's prioritize reducing the burden!

Mowing is not a "competition to see who can cut it the lowest and make it look the cleanest"! lol

When mowing, I completely understand the urge to think "cut it shorter" or "make it look cleaner."

However, what is important is not just the appearance, but making subsequent maintenance easier.

As long as it doesn't harm your fruits or vegetables, please try to be conscious of leaving it a little longer!
