[ADHD Countermeasures] Installing SwitchBot has made things incredibly comfortable
To start with the conclusion, I bought a SwitchBot Hub 2 and a SwitchBot Curtain.
And then↓
○ Forgetting to turn off the lights before going out & when falling asleep
○ Forgetting to turn off the air conditioner before going out
○ The stress of the hassle of turning the air conditioner & lights on and off daily
○ The stress of opening and closing curtains
The above issues have been resolved!
What is this, it's incredibly convenient.
SwitchBot Hub 2
I bought this to deal with forgetting to turn off the air conditioner and lights.
It's an amazing device that learns the infrared emission patterns of infrared remote controls and issues the same commands as the remote.
It seems that as long as it can be operated by an infrared remote, you can have SwitchBot learn it!
Since you can operate it remotely from the app, even if you forget to turn off the air conditioner or lights after leaving the house, you can turn them on or off from outside.
Furthermore, with automation (a setting that triggers when conditions are met), if you set it to turn off the air conditioner and lights when your location leaves home, they can turn off automatically when you leave, or turn on when you return!
○ Air conditioner
○ Lights (I replaced them with ceiling lights that can be operated by remote)
For now, I've made these two things smart.
What is this. This is just too great.
SwitchBot Curtain
I bought this as a countermeasure against depression due to lack of sunlight and for sleep quality.
It's a device that you just attach to the curtain rail, and it links with the SwitchBot app to allow you to open and close the curtains remotely.
You can open and close them manually from the app, set them to open and close at specific times, and even set them based on sunrise or sunset.
It seems you don't need to charge it if you attach a dedicated solar panel. I didn't buy one this time, so it seems USB charging is necessary.
The whirring operation sound is quite noticeable, but I'm definitely still asleep at sunrise, and I have it set to close when I go out, so I rarely hear the sound when I'm awake and in the room. Maybe just when I'm home on my days off.
Even if it makes a sound, it doesn't bother me. I watch it thinking, 'It's moving properly, how cute~' (lol) haha
With this, forgetting to turn off the lights and air conditioner is resolved, and I can even turn on the air conditioner before I get home to make it comfortable, or turn off the lights from my smartphone before I fall asleep!
In the morning, I've been waking up better thanks to the morning sun.

Like this, you can check if they are ON/OFF, check if they are closed, and operate them from the app♪
The Hub 2 has a temperature and humidity sensor, and it seems you can also automatically operate the air conditioner to keep the temperature constant if you set it up.
I'm not using that for now, but it's convenient to be able to check the current room temperature.
My ADHD stress sources have decreased significantly, so I'm glad I bought these.
Being yelled at or exposed in a group LINE, that's not the kind of countermeasure I need.
By the way, it seems there are also lock opening/closing devices that can be operated remotely from the app in the same way
(I can't install one right now because I don't live alone)
If I install that, it seems it would also improve forgetting to lock the house door.
You can still open and close it manually with a key, and even if you don't have the key on hand, you can open and close it as long as the app and Bluetooth are connected.
I'm planning to introduce this to my front door lock once I start living alone!
This is the kind of civilization I've been waiting for (´;ω;`)
I'm truly grateful...!
So, that was my recent ADHD countermeasure life hack.
