Treasures Beyond Time - The Notebook My Grandfather Left Behind and the Feelings I Want to Pass On -

Hello.
I am Kaho Mizuno, a certified instructor for the Children's Talent Discovery Notebook®.

Today, I would like to share a story about my precious treasure,
“the notebook my grandfather left behind.”

My grandfather, who was born in the Taisho era, left me a notebook titled
“A Gift of Memories.”
I only discovered the existence of this notebook when I was in my mid-twenties, while I was cleaning out my grandparents' house.
I found an old notebook by chance, and the moment I opened the page...
What was written there was undeniably the story of the beginning of my life.
If I hadn't found the notebook at that time, I might have disposed of it without even knowing it existed.



My grandfather passed away when I was in elementary school, but for me, who was a huge “grandpa's girl,” it was a shocking and moving reunion.
The moment I held the notebook, tears welled up in my eyes from surprise and nostalgia.

The notebook began with a detailed description of the hospital scene and the hospital room when I was born, and it contained episodes I had never known before—about what my grandparents and my mother were thinking as they faced the birth.

Who thought of my name and how?
How did I spend my time as a newborn?

Every time I turned the page, I felt the gaze full of love for me, his first grandchild, and his honest feelings, which warmed my heart.

It was a strange sensation, as if I could feel how blessed I was to be born, as if I had been there myself.

This notebook is an irreplaceable treasure to me.

When I feel down or stand at a crossroads in life...
Opening its pages always warms and encourages me.
It is a
spiritual charmthat makes me feel as if my grandfather is still watching over me by my side.

And I strongly vowed that if I were blessed with children in the future, I would leave behind a notebook filled with my own thoughts just like this.

I want to share this moving experience I had with as many people as possible.
