The time my buildings were just planks (on the subject of depth)
A point I stumbled on when I first started building in World Craft!
The thumbnail is the first world I made.
It looked flat, plain, and lacked any sense of depth.
But I didn't know what to do,
so I started looking closely at real buildings.
There are many small details, but these are the main causes.
1. 'There are no pillars'
I was just placing walls without adding pillars. The moment I added pillars, it suddenly looked like a structure, and I was a bit moved.
The official pillar items are actually quite useful.
2. 'Everything is facing the same way'
I was placing things like trees, grass, and flowers all in the same direction, and I felt something was off.
Just shifting them slightly or changing the angle eased the unnaturalness.
Natural objects aren't perfectly aligned, are they?
3. 'There is no unevenness'
Wall and floor items are flat and two-dimensional on their own, so I combined them with walls and pillars of different sizes.

Doing this adds unevenness and makes it look a bit more three-dimensional.
Furthermore,

These are all official items.
It's interesting how a little bit of ingenuity can make it look completely different.
There's still more, but there's no end to it, so I'll leave it at this!
It's also good to use real buildings as a reference, even if it's just through photos.
See you later.
