A record of making a flower stand for my favorite character

I made a flower stand for the first time, so I'm leaving this as a record.
I hope it serves as a reference for someone.

To begin with

An announcement for a live concert in my genre (KING OF PRISM) came out for the first time in 6 years, and I thought, "I have to send a flower stand...!!" Even though I didn't even know if I could send a flower stand one week after the announcement, I secured a florist assuming I could. lol

Set up a project once the regulations are announced

This time, the regulations were announced about a month in advance. Usually, it seems to be earlier than that.
Regulations: Height 180cm, base footprint 40cm wide x 40cm deep or less only. Designs that connect are not allowed.
Since that was the case, I thought about the design loosely based on this, and set up a project using minsaka. Using this platform is really easy because it eliminates the most troublesome part, which is money management. Also, being able to sort and copy-paste the names of participants is subtly useful.
Creating the project was easy because I just had to fill in the form in order.
The recruitment page at that time is
this. I made one share 1000 yen to make it easy to understand.
"I'm not good at recruiting like this..." If you feel that way, I think it's fine to send it individually, but I like sending it together because it feels like a festival. lol

Refining the design

Once the project is set up, I draw up the design.
I really wanted to make it a flower stand with a life-sized borderless panel on the front, so I did it like this.
"Regardless of the support amount, I'll do what I want to do, and I'll just pay for the shortfall myself!"
With that mindset, I cut the design without thinking about the budget.

I think it's good to write it so that the image is conveyed anyway. If you have a design drawing that allows you to imagine the finished product, it will be easier for everyone to support you.
Basically, I didn't give detailed instructions to the florist regarding the flower decoration, and it was like "I'll leave it to you to make it look good without deviating too much from the image!!".
Because the florist knows more about flowers than I do...

Deciding on a florist

This time, I chose a shop recommended by a friend✨️
Honestly, even if you search online, you don't really know...
They usually don't list the prices!!!!!!!! Please write the price!!!!!!!!

If you don't know much, I think it's good to search and find a "flower stand close to what you want to do" and ask the florist who made it.

By the way, minsaka charges a 10% fee if you don't use it through an intermediary site called Sakaseru, but this time I wanted peace of mind regarding quality and volume rather than the amount, so I asked the florist recommended by my friend.
Initially, I thought it would be nice if I could collect about 50,000 yen... so I thought 10% is about 5,000 yen, so that's fine... but in the end, I received 105,000 yen in support, so the fee exceeded 10,000 yen...
It feels like quite a bit is taken when it exceeds 10,000...
But I was able to ask a wonderful florist who filled it more than the price, so even after deducting this fee, I was very satisfied. Thank you.
This time, including installation fees, etc., it was 66,000 yen!

Since the panel width is too large, you can't see the flowers unless you fill the back, so the flowers are inevitably large too...
By the way, the florist kindly added decorations like lights and jewels. Too genius...😭

Deciding on a printing shop

It is better to decide on a printing shop before preparing illustrations and name tags. (Since each company has templates, etc.)
And the conditions I required from the printing shop this time are as follows.

• A place that will draw cut paths for me since I don't have Illustrator

• A place that can make life-sized panels since they exceed 90cm in width

• A place that does borderless cutting

So, I asked Vanfu. Vanfu may look expensive at first glance, but since panel hole punching, cut path creation fees, shipping, etc., were included in the price, I think it's a reasonable price considering the quality.
(However, we will send the proof within 24 hours at the latest was written, but there was a slight misunderstanding of instructions, and it finally arrived 48 hours later or so... Things like this happen, so I want to move with plenty of time in the schedule. Other responses themselves were polite and very kind, and it was a printing shop with wonderful quality)
Actually, I wanted a black panel called a 'Black Panel', but it was only up to 90cm wide, so I gave up.
If you use a black panel, the sides are also black, so it seems that the sense of reality increases when viewed from an angle.

Completing the illustration

I'll draw it with all my heart.
The resolution is 200 dpi, but I was surprised at how I could draw infinitely because of the massive size. Since the panel is installed slightly raised from the ground, I made the height about 5cm shorter to account for that. (Though in reality, the height restrictions were strict, so it couldn't be raised...)
I made sure there were as few holes as possible in the center part that attaches to the flower stand.

I'll also make a panel for the sender's name.
Some florists can handle this for you, but preparing it yourself ensures it looks exactly how you imagined.
Also, if you need other small items, start collecting them little by little during this time. Online stores can sometimes be slow to ship, so it's better to start early.
Check things like, "Will the florist also provide balloons, etc.?"Prepare the items you'll use for decoration while confirming these details, and then ship them to the florist.

Make the payment

This time, it was a bank transfer due one week in advance.
The support funds will be transferred at the end of the month, one month later, but you will have to cover all the initial costs yourself for the time being.

The day of the event

I'll use the mass messaging feature on Minsaka to send photos and express my gratitude to the supporters.
Look at that, my flower stand... It's so moving.

Since you often can't retrieve the panels on the day of the event, if you want one for yourself, it's a good idea to order two.
Maybe some florists will send them to you if you ask?

I was generally satisfied with the result, but if I had to point something out, the starting point of the chain on Awi-kun's outfit was supposed to be from his chest pocket in my vision... I probably should have communicated that clearly...
Also, the life-sized panel seemed to have bent a little during transport and ended up slightly tilted; that's my only regret. (We aren't allowed to touch it after it's set up...)
Well, when I told my friends about it,they said, "What? I don't notice it at all?!"so I guess it's just the creator who notices the tiny details...

Expense Details

Thankfully, I would like to express my gratitude for the 105,000 yen in support received from 58 people.
A few people gave large donations, which put a lot of pressure on me halfway through, but I'm relieved that it ended successfully.
I think the panels and flowers would have been cheaper if the panel wasn't "life-sized + borderless + over 90cm wide."

Finally

Making a flower stand takes a lot of effort, but it's incredibly fun! ✨
Towards the end, I felt like, "Is it really okay for me to be allowed to do whatever I want like this?!"
