Nice to meet you.
I am Mayu Kagi, the "Speaker of Smiles."
My nickname is Mayupon.

I started note on my 50th birthday.
※The timing is perfect, like starting cold Chinese noodles (lol)

At 35, I was diagnosed with breast cancer during my first medical checkup,
and now I turn that experience into value as a "Speaker of Smiles," sharing the message of
"living in the present with a smile."

Currently, while facing my third bout of breast cancer with bone metastasis, I am updating my days with smiles alongside my precious family and friends.
Although I am a breast cancer patient, I am by no means a tragic heroine,

and I strive to share content that makes the person in front of me smile.

I am definitely much better at "speaking" than "writing."
However, I feel it is important to "write" and share the thoughts and activities I find in my daily life.

It is common that neither "writing" nor "speaking" improves just by learning.
"Output" and "practice" are the keys to improvement!

At 50, I decided to start posting on note to leave behind "proof of my own life."

Today is my momentous first post.
What kind of life have I led, and what will I be writing about on note?
Please let me introduce myself and state my intentions.

I aim for my articles to make you, the reader,
feel as warm and cozy as you do after drinking my favorite corn soup.
Oh, maybe cold soup is better for the summer?

After graduating from Tokyo College of Music,
I worked in sales and as a secretary at foreign-affiliated companies (international courier services, golf manufacturers, IT companies, etc.).

I experienced sales to about 120,000 people over 20 years.
Also, having worked as an executive secretary,
I realized that interpersonal skills like first impressions and communication have a huge impact on both business and private life.
I began researching facial muscle training and first impressions.

At first glance, "sales," where you are out in front presenting and selling, and
"secretarial work," where you support from behind, seem like complete opposites.Generally, people tend to be good at one and bad at the other.
However, for me, the common denominator is

"people."

My strength is being able to handle both the front and back roles,
adapting to the situation and the person in front of me.

The experience I gained in the brass band during my student days, where
each part makes the most of its individuality to create a single harmony♬
is the foundation of my communication.

Favorite word: Shinayaka (Supple/Flexible)
What kind of image do you haveof the word "shinayaka"?I feel "a dignified strength of character within softness".

"Living flexibly"is my ideal way of life.

No rain, no rainbow🌈
Literally translated, it means that because it rains, we can see a beautiful rainbow.
I interpret it this way:
"A wonderful future awaits you after you overcome painful experiences!"

Life is a breeze♬
The "pon" in Mayupon comes from my favorite ponzu sauce.
Some people call breast cancer "nyu-pon" and have overcome it, so
it is a keyword for my life🔑
I also made the title of my note"Life is a breeze"!

Special skill: 15-second multilingual self-introduction (15 languages / including Kansai dialect)

Bright and cheerful. Strong-willed, tomboyish, and competitive.

<Sudden breast cancer diagnosis>

March 2009 (35 years old at the time), diagnosed withbreast cancerduring my first medical checkup,
and suddenly learned that my 5-year survival rate was in the 40% range.
"I will definitely reach age 40! I still have things left to do!"By becoming aware of "death," I focused even more on "living."

June 29, 2020: Went independent under the business name"Key for smile".
"Living in the present with a smile"as the core message I want to convey,
I decided to take action.
"A smiling lecturer who overcame breast cancer twice"
"Expert in increasing first impressions by 30%"
Just as I started working under the title "Supple Sales Expert," I faced the biggest crisis of my life.

December 2021: Suddenly unable to "stand or walk," emergency hospitalization and emergency surgery.
Unfortunately, it was a spinal cord injury caused bybone metastasis of breast cancer.
The major surgery to insert 14 bolts into my spine was a success.
Although there was a possibility I would be in a wheelchair for life,
"I will return to playing my beloved golf"was the goal I set.

On YouTube "Smile Key Channel",
I posted videos of my rehabilitation
as "The journey from wheelchair to returning to golf."
As of June 2023, thanks to the effects of rehabilitation, I have graduated from the wheelchair!
I have recovered to the point where I can walk without a cane inside the house.
