How to Think About FX While Balancing a Main Job
When you take on FX as a side hustle, I believe your biggest enemy isn't a "lack of time," but "impatience."
Don't you get the urge to "enter the market right now!" when you check the charts during your work breaks?
But I realized that the secret to winning at FX lies in the power to "wait" for the right opportunity.
In the beginning, I was also obsessed with the idea that I had to trade even if it meant cutting into my sleep.
However, I never won by doing that.
In fact, when I traded without any breathing room, I couldn't make calm decisions, and before I knew it, my funds were just dwindling away...
To succeed at side-hustle FX, it's important to protect "your own time."
If you have a main job, value that job while being mindful of creating a "system to efficiently grow your profits" in the gaps between.
Just by adopting this mindset, your approach to FX will change completely.
If You Want to Win at FX, Define Your "Personal Rules"
The essence of "how to win at FX trading" is deciding "when not to trade" rather than "when to trade."
In my case, I absolutely never trade when I'm tired, frustrated, or before my period (lol)—basically, whenever my emotions are unstable.
People doing FX as a side hustle tend to push themselves too hard, trying to get results within limited time.
But that ends up having a negative impact on your main job.
That's exactly why you need the courage to decide, "I won't trade today."
Actually, this "courage not to trade" becomes your greatest weapon for protecting your profits in the long run.
Since I started following this rule, my equity curve has been rising slowly, but surely.
How to "Prepare Your Mind" to Keep Doing Side-Hustle FX
To be honest, I used to think, "I want to earn money faster!" too.
But when you get impatient, you end up ruining your own trading.
One day, I decided to take a week off from trading.
While observing my own life rhythm and mental waves during that time, I realized that FX is a "mirror of your own mind."
When your mind is in turmoil, the charts look chaotic too.
Conversely, when your mind is calm, the flow of the market becomes naturally visible.
To get results in side-hustle FX, it's more important to "prepare yourself" than to focus on trading techniques.
Sleep, diet, and relaxation.
Even a laid-back person like me (lol) saw the quality of my trading change significantly once I started being conscious of these things.
The most important thing for continuing FX as a side hustle is to "keep going at your own pace."
Don't rush, don't compare yourself to others, and build it up little by little.
I believe that this accumulation is the realistic "way to win" that allows you to balance it with your main job.
