The Importance of a Long-Term Perspective, Learning, and Persistence in Considering FX Trading as Self-Investment

I used to be an office worker, and I took the plunge into the world of FX. But honestly, in the beginning, I only thought about increasing my money. Every day, I would stare at the charts, desperate to figure out how to make a profit. But back then, I wasn't getting any results at all, and every time I lost, I would get depressed and blame myself. Looking back now, I think I only saw trading as a mere means to make money.

At one point, changing my mindset to see trading as an investment in myself became a major turning point. I think FX is more of a learning ground to polish yourself than just a way to increase money in the short term. It's not just about the ability to read the market, but also about balancing your mental state and observing your own thought patterns. I have a laid-back personality, but I'm surprisingly stubborn, and I wasn't good at admitting my mistakes. Facing that side of myself was very difficult, but I feel that experience has been useful in areas outside of trading as well.

I think what's important in FX is, after all, a long-term perspective. If you are always swayed by short-term wins and losses, your heart won't be able to take it. I, too, have felt like crying and thinking "this is the end" every time I held a position with unrealized losses. But once I started thinking, "This is part of the learning process" and "I'll make use of this failure next time," my heart gradually became lighter.

And above all, persistence is truly important. Honestly, there were many times I wanted to quit halfway through. When losses continued, I would think, "Maybe I'm not cut out for this," or get depressed about my body shape (laughs). But I kept pushing forward, thinking, "There is meaning in continuing." Learning steadily like that has now become a great asset of mine.

If there is anyone out there right now who feels painful because they can't win at FX or aren't getting results, I want you to try thinking of it as an investment in yourself for once. By accepting it as a chance to grow yourself rather than just increasing money, I think your perspective will broaden and your approach to trading will change. Let's continue to learn without rushing, with a long-term perspective, and while taking care of ourselves.
