We held a 'Tanka Party' at the Dream Consultation Room.

Good morning.
This is Mamanosuke (*´▽｀*)/

My family has been really into Tanka lately,
and we finally participated in a Tanka party! (´∀｀*)ufufu

Tanka Party at the Dream Consultation Room

On August 20th, at the Dream Consultation Room,
we welcomed Tsuru-san and Temari-san as instructors
and held a Tanka party (*´艸｀)

It was a two-hour session where we enjoyed
our friends' Tanka while receiving critiques
on the Tanka we had written in advance,
making for a peaceful gathering of 10 people in total (*´艸｀)

Furthermore! Our consultant, Kumashina-san,
used Canva to turn everyone's Tanka into beautiful images,
so we were able to enjoy the Tanka with our eyes too (*´艸｀)

The Dream Consultation Room's Tanka party is...

While enjoying the participants' Tanka visually,
each person reads their own poem aloud
and talks about the background of the poem (^^)/

After that, we proceed with critiques
from Tsuru-sensei and Temari-sensei (*´▽｀*)/

The instructors for this time were...

★Tsuru -san

They critiqued every single participant's Tanka
with gentle words, and also
taught us how to study Tanka (*´艸｀)

★Temari -san

Along with Tsuru-san's critiques, they shared
their own feelings and insights on learning Tanka (*´艸｀)

The friends who participated were...

★Kurousa (Kaoru Konohana) -san

The new idea of incorporating Tanka into historical novels is wonderful (*´▽｀*)

★Makana☆Makana -san

Her sincere approach to Tanka is wonderful,
and her poems are truly beautiful as well (*´艸｀)

★Noriko Tonomura -san

Noriko-san was the one who proposed this project (´∀｀*)ufufu
Because of that, she has studied Tanka so much,
which is wonderful (*´▽｀*)

★Yui -san

It is wonderful to see you reading so many tanka poems with an honest heart.

These were lovely tanka poems that slipped right into my heart.

Your tanka, written from your unique and gentle perspective, are wonderful. (*´▽｀*)

It is amazing how you manage to capture a scene while strictly adhering to the 5-7-5-7-7 structure of tanka.

You were absent on the day of the party to pursue your own dream,
but you kindly created beautiful tanka images on Canva in advance!

As always, I am wandering off on my own path (∀｀*ゞ) hehe.

But the collection of tanka poems that my friends participated in is wonderful.

The lessons learned this time are...

This time, not only did I enjoy my friends' tanka,
but I was also able to receive a lot of advice on how to write tanka
from Tsuru-san and Temari-san.

Among these, something that surely anyone can do is...

1. Read many tanka poems (=ﾟωﾟ)ﾉ

If you look back into the past, there is the Manyoshu...
It is nice to immerse yourself in an elegant world once in a while (´∀｀*) ufufu.

Machi Tawara, famous for 'Salad Anniversary,' was also recommended by our teacher.

Reading my friends' tanka, as well as the poems of many other poets, is a great way to learn.

2. Read them aloud (=ﾟωﾟ)ﾉ

Among the things Tsuru-san taught me this time,
this is the one I got most hooked on ( *´艸｀)

Whenever I post on note,
I tend to just finish it with text alone,
but when I actually read it aloud, I noticed things like how to read the kanji
and the difference between the atmosphere of the text and the voice,
which was very refreshing ( *´艸｀)

Recently, not just with my own tanka,
but also when reading friends' tanka or tanka collections,
reading them aloud brings a different kind of
fun (´∀｀*)ufufu

③ Having fun yourself is the most important thing ( *´艸｀)

When I first met the teacher,
they told me to enjoy tanka!!
and that's when I started tanka too (*´▽｀*)

Although there are rules for tanka like 5-7-5-7-7,
without worrying about having too many or too few syllables,
it's best to compose them happily (*´▽｀*)/

At this tanka party, I tried reading
my friends' tanka, and each person's
unique flavor was very wonderful ( *´艸｀)

Originality in both note and tanka
is wonderful (*´▽｀*)

Our family started tanka
thanks to the Dream Consultation Room project,
and I hope to apply what I learned this time
to continue enjoying it in the future ( *´艸｀)
