Good morning. Oh boy, it's raining, isn't it? To have it start raining from the morning, it's as if the sky is declaring, "I have zero motivation today." Honestly, couldn't it be a little more considerate of my mood? It was sunny yesterday, so why is the sky so gloomy only today? If it were the weekend, that would be one thing, but when a dreary rainy day like this hits on a weekday morning, it's hard to get my spirits up.

In the first place, isn't a rainy morning inconvenient in every possible way? Even before leaving the house, I think, "Oh, I have to bring an umbrella," but that umbrella is a real nuisance. If I carry it, it's just extra baggage that gets in the way, and if I don't, it inevitably starts pouring, forcing me to waste money buying a plastic umbrella at a convenience store. And why do those plastic umbrellas disappear so quickly? Once you leave it in the umbrella stand at the station, it's someone else's by the time you head home. I mean, it was brand new! Can't people in this world be a little more careful with other people's things?

And then there are the streets on a rainy day. You have to be careful because the footing is bad, but for some reason, there are so many people in a hurry, and the umbrellas start clashing violently. The train platform is like a battlefield with umbrellas spreading out everywhere. Carrying a bag on your shoulder, holding an umbrella in one hand, and trying to navigate the flow of people is like a martial art. And even while walking so carefully, there's the trap of the puddles... One wrong step and you splash water everywhere, and with the regret of "Oh, I messed up..." your shoes end up in a miserable state. Have you ever experienced that feeling of despair when your socks get damp first thing in the morning? At that moment, my motivation drops to zero.

And then, of course, there's the train. Doesn't it get more crowded when it rains? People who usually walk or bike to work decide, "It's raining today, so..." and hop on the train, resulting in more congestion than usual. The inside of the train is humid and stuffy, you have to be careful where you stand because of the umbrellas, and I can't help but worry about the water droplets dripping from the person next to me. At that point, whether or not you can get a seat becomes less important than praying, "Please, let me stay dry..."

By the time I arrive at work, folding the umbrella is another struggle. If I shove it into a bag, it's guaranteed to get the surrounding items wet, and if I lean it against my feet, someone is bound to trip over it and knock it over. If only the umbrella problem on rainy days could be solved more smoothly, how much happier would we be... Honestly, if technology is going to advance, I wish they would develop a system where we don't get wet even without an umbrella.

Well, that's how the day begins, lamenting the hardships of a rainy morning... But, I suppose I should try to find something enjoyable even on a rainy day. Maybe brew some coffee and spend some quiet time, or go ahead and wear my favorite rain boots. Anyway, there's no point in just hating the rain, so let's at least try to find something good about it...
