Summer Sonic First Lineup Announcement | L'Arc-en-Ciel Finally Headlining

The first Summer Sonic artist lineup has finally been announced!

L'Arc-en-Ciel is headlining!!!!!
I have been waiting for this for five years. Waiting for L'Arc-en-Ciel to headline Summer Sonic.

Going back in time...

Summer Sonic 2019 was held over three days to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
The headliner for the first day in Tokyo was B'z.

I attended that day because I wanted to see THE 1975.

I was nervous about how it would go, as they were the first Japanese headliners in Summer Sonic history.

Honestly, it was nothing short of a masterpiece.
It was a performance so overwhelming that it blew away the lingering excitement from the previous stage by THE 1975...

And then, "Someday, I want to see my beloved L'Arc-en-Ciel headline Summer Sonic!"

I felt that so strongly.

I even made up my own setlist for when L'Arc-en-Ciel would headline, haha.

When it was announced that it would be held over three days this time, I was nervous the whole time, guessing who the Japanese headliner would be.

In my mind, it was a choice between three: Hikaru Utada, King Gnu, and L'Arc-en-Ciel.

L'Arc-en-Ciel really became the headliner...

I still can't believe it... I'm just so happy...

I also like The Strokes, so I want to attend all the days this year.

I'm looking forward to the second lineup announcement!
Personally, I'd also love for shoegaze and dream pop acts like Wisp, Slow Crush, and Glixen to come.
