Handling Print Media Design and Revisions as a Team
(Previous post ↓)
My company is a web-based business, but we also receive requests to create flyers and booklets. In such cases, we form a team to handle everything from editing and design to printing.
For booklets, the number of pages is determined in advance. We start by conducting an interview, writing out the content, and editing it to fit the word count. We draw storyboards for each page, share them with the designer, and have the design company handle the layout to complete the project. We follow this process for both booklets and flyers.
A food manufacturer that saw a booklet we produced liked the design so much that they ended up hiring us for work.
This company contacts us every few years when it is time to update the content.
For example, if the company moves, we need to print materials with the new address. If food labeling laws change, we must update the labels accordingly.
Even when parts need to be revised or items added in this way, they contact my company because they want the design to remain the same as before.
Sometimes a new contact person will ask, "The person in charge has changed, but are you aware of the details of the previous request?" Having been involved in making booklets for this company for many years, I sometimes have a better grasp of the history than the internal staff, who may rotate positions.
In this way, we also handle flyers, booklets, and more by forming a team.
It seems they liked the design, and I am grateful that they keep coming back to us every time there is a revision.
