[Children's Stories] About my childbirth experiences

Hello!
Today, I would like to write about my experiences giving birth to my children (my son, who is in 1st grade, and my daughter, who is 2 years old).

Giving birth to my son

I had no issues during my pregnancy.
Labor started on my due date.
The next day, I gave birth via natural delivery at a maternity clinic near my home.

After experiencing natural delivery

People say that "childbirth is like a traffic accident that takes six months to fully recover from," and that was exactly how it felt.
My perineum was stitched up, my bottom was in a terrible state (lol),
and my bladder was damaged, so I was rushing to the bathroom dozens of times a day.
Since the maternity clinic took care of the baby almost entirely and only called me for feedings, I tried to focus on recovering, but I was so full of adrenaline that I couldn't sleep...
Because it was my first birth, I was a complete wreck.

Giving birth to my daughter

During my second pregnancy, I was completely relaxed.☺
There were no weight restrictions (I learned recently that the guidelines for weight have changed since my son's time!), and since I was working remotely, I spent my time comfortably.
However, I had severe swelling and couldn't sleep without soaking my feet every day...
Perhaps that was a sign.

Trouble at 34 weeks of pregnancy

I was scheduled to have a planned elective cesarean section for my daughter.
However, around 4:00 AM at 34 weeks pregnant, I suddenly felt pain in my stomach area...
Enduring the pain, I had my husband call an ambulance.

Transported to the maternity clinic where I was scheduled to give birth
↓
Determined that they couldn't handle it, I was transferred to a large general hospital
↓
I lost consciousness and, before I knew it, gave birth via emergency cesarean section.

HELLP syndrome

I had developed HELLP syndrome, and it seems my life was in danger.

I had two eclamptic seizures.
I suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage due to high blood pressure.
I required dialysis due to acute kidney failure.
For the six days I was in the ICU, my consciousness was hazy the entire time.

Hospital life

After leaving the ICU, I spent time in a general ward, staying in the hospital for a total of 15 days.
It took me 9 days to realize I had given birth!
My postpartum mental state was so fragile that it was a very difficult hospital stay, both physically and mentally...
Because my daughter was born earlier than planned, she spent a month in the NICU.

After experiencing a cesarean section

Because I couldn't move immediately after the surgery, it seems I have adhesions...
I was in critical condition, I had abdominal surgery, and there was a mountain of paperwork for the hospital and my child.
The hospital was far from home, and I had to go visit my daughter in the NICU.
Postpartum was just too overwhelming...

"Natural delivery is hard during the birth, while a cesarean section is hard after the birth."
That is my conclusion!

Present

Fortunately, the subarachnoid hemorrhage left no aftereffects.
My kidneys are being monitored with once-a-year hospital visits.
My daughter is also growing to an average size!

My current job is not very busy, and I am working with the intention of it being rehabilitation.
During the time I have been working, I have obtained:
・Bookkeeping Level 3
・Secretary Proficiency Test Level 2
・MOS 365 Excel Expert
but this was also for my future job hunting & for rehabilitation!
