Geminid Meteor Shower

I love looking at the sky, and
last night, while I was on my way home,
I happened to see a shooting star when I looked up.

I wondered if I was just imagining it,
but when I looked it up, it seems it was a meteor shower.

They say the peak is on the 14th.
I was able to see one even though it wasn't the peak,
so I might be able to see even more on the 14th.
(...or so I thought, but when I checked the weekly weather forecast, it looks like the weather will be bad on the 14th 😭)

About 20 years ago, when I went to Tanegashima,
I was moved to see shooting stars and the Milky Way with my naked eye for the first time, but

this isn't a special place,
and since it was my first time confirming a shooting star in my hometown,
I was so excited and thrilled yesterday.

To put it in a way that lacks dreams or romance,
shooting stars are just a phenomenon caused by space dust hitting the atmosphere, but...

Still, in this vast universe,
to be able to see such a beautiful phenomenon,
I really think it's something amazing.

Although the 14th is the peak,
it seems they appear from around the 5th to around the 20th.

Until around the 20th, I'll look at the sky every night on my way home from work
and look for shooting stars on my way back♪
