In my 60s, I let go of perfectionism and started 'posting 70-point content every day'
It's not that I can't write, it's that I can't put it out there.
Edit, edit, and edit again.
And while I put nothing out, only the dates keep changing.
My 'challenge for the future' wasn't about making my dreams bigger—it was about deciding to
“publish at 70 points”.
What was stopping me wasn't my 'writing ability'
I have themes I want to write about. I have things I want to say.
But I stop right before hitting publish.
I decide on a title and then go back
I polish only the introduction and then stop
I keep re-reading because I'm afraid of typos and omissions
My hand stops, wondering, 'Is there any point in writing this?'
In the end, I think what I feared most wasn't failure, but
not wanting to see a 'me who isn't evaluated'.
It's not that failure becomes more painful as you get older.
Rather, what's painful is this feeling.
I wonder if I'm just going to end up like this, without putting anything out.
I changed the definition of 'challenge'
I feel like when I was young, I could jump into challenges on impulse.
But now, I need 'conviction' more than impulse.
So, I stopped trying to make my challenges big.
Instead, I made my challenges small and concrete.
My challenge is this.
Stop aiming for 100 points and publish at 70 points.
What's important here is that 70 points doesn't mean 'half-hearted'.
70 points means 'deciding on and sticking to your own passing grade'.
A challenge in your 60s doesn't have to be a flashy success.
Creating a 'system' that moves the future was the most realistic thing for me.
The rules for 70-point publishing (this alone gets things moving)
To post every day, I fixed the 'conditions for publishing'.
I call it the 70-point check.
70-point check (5-minute review)
Has a heading (easy to read)
Conclusion can be stated in one line (clear message)
Includes one personal experience (avoids being purely theoretical)
Offers one 'step the reader can take today' (provides lasting value)
Quick scan for typos (don't look for perfection)
If you have these, publish it.
You can fix it after publishing. In fact, it's better to grow it after it's live.
For a long time, I was the type to 'finish before publishing.'
But now, it's the opposite.
Publish first, then refine. Make it stronger after it's out.
The moment I changed this order, things that had been stuck started moving.
Don't erase anxiety. Convert it into 'action'
When you can't publish, anxiety is usually the cause.
What if there's no reaction?
What if people think it's not good?
It would be embarrassing if I couldn't keep it up
I don't have time
So, I stopped trying to erase my anxiety.
Instead, I convert the anxiety into one action for today.
Anxiety Log → Action Conversion (Template)
1. Anxiety (what's on your mind right now)
Example: Maybe there won't be a reaction
2. Fact (only what is known right now)
Example: The number of posts is still low / The readership is still growing
③ Today's step (an action you can do in 5 minutes)
Example: Fix just the first 3 lines / Add headings / Include one personal experience
④ Today's 70-point line (passing criteria)
Example: Publish if it includes a heading, one line of conclusion, and one personal experience
On days when you feel anxious, you don't have to make it a grand day.
Days when you feel anxious are exactly the days to post at 70 points.
What changed was not the results, but 'how I treat myself'
To be honest, this is not a story of dramatic success.
But there was definitely a change.
I became able to press the publish button
The time spent writing decreased (less hesitation)
The focus shifted from 'reactions' to 'consistency'
And the biggest thing is this.
The number of times I blame myself has decreased.
When I realize, 'I'm stuck again because I'm seeking perfection,'
I just go back to the 70-point check.
The future is brought to you not by talent, nor by sheer willpower, but by
a system that allows you to publish.
That is what I believe now.
Summary: The challenge for the future was to discard '100 points'
My conclusion is simple.
Challenge for the future = Stop aiming for 100 points and build up with 70 points.
Out of how many points is your 70 points? And what is one step you can take today to post at 70 points?
(If you'd like, please leave just your 'step for today' in the comments. Short is fine.)
