Better than the real thing!? The exquisite Sri Lankan cuisine was shockingly delicious @ Ibaraki Akatsuka Coji Coji
If you get
entangled in love
Autumn is deepening and the excursion season has arrived!
So, I went on an
expedition to Ibaraki Prefecture.

It took about two and a half hours to arrive at
that place.
It's called "Coji Coji."
It's a restaurant with a reputation as a
famous Sri Lankan restaurant.

The Coji Coji building, which appears in a peaceful location,
gives the impression that it has been there for a long time,
but the restaurant itself has only been open for 8 years.

When I climbed the stairs and entered the shop,
Wow!
The space that Joy-ko loves
spreads out before me.

They have created a unique worldview by hanging colorful,
beautiful fabrics in an inorganic space,
inviting you to somewhere other than here.
I arrived about 10 minutes before lunchtime started and lined up to get in,
so the seats in the restaurant were filled as soon as it opened.

The staff are Japanese.
They are young and stylish.
(The chef is also said to be Japanese, but I didn't meet them in person)

The food menu is basically
a choice between vegetarian or non-vegetarian.
You can also
choose options.
Like a carnivorous girl,
I ordered the non-vegetarian Sri Lankan plate.

Wow!!!
How beautiful is this?!
You can select one
from three types of main curries.
On this day, the options were
● Octopus ● Salmon ● Yellowtail
but I chose the octopus and yellowtail.
The +alpha curry is an option
that comes with an additional charge.

The standard chicken curry that comes with it was
spicier than I imagined,
with a sharp, delicious flavor.
The rare octopus curry features a rich
gravy that fuses with the octopus to create
a delicious new world.
You can taste the umami of the octopus when you chew it.

The additional yellowtail curry is served on a separate plate.
The perfectly fatty yellowtail is exquisite!
The other side dishes are colorful.
They are beautiful to look at and innovative,
delighting Joy-ko's heart
in every way.

Parippu, vinegared pumpkin

Chickpeas, radish achaar, cashew lotus root,

Red onion, eggplant, pol sambol,
kale with coconut, papadum, etc.
The rice is Sri Lankan rice.
It is small-grained and cooked firm.
Refills are free and it is a self-service system.
The refill rice is apparently
Indica rice.
After tasting each one individually, mix them lightly.
I personally prefer not to mix them too much.

Not only is it beautiful,
but the taste is also superb!
While lingering on the aftertaste of the spice,
the hot kiri te (milk tea) I had
was just so, so delicious.

It contained no spices,
and with its gentle, soothing sweetness,
the aroma of Sri Lankan tea,
and the milk soaking through,
I left the shop
wrapped in a feeling of happiness.
It is quite far, but
it is truly wonderful and worth the trip
Sri Lankan curry.
After actually eating it, I could understand
why so many people rave about it.
Highly, highly, highly recommended.

Once you have let your love become twisted,
there is no going back.
It is sad, but
I do not want to have any regrets.
Without looking back,
I will just keep moving forward.
Searching for love all the way to Northern Kanto,
a tearful love parippu.
