Mom's Hair Dye for a Change of Pace

Calling it hair dye is closer to the truth, as it was specifically for gray hair.
Now that she's past sixty, it would be funny to expect jet-black, glossy hair, but perhaps because of what happened with May, she suddenly felt like she had aged with an increase in gray hair (Mom's hair is fine and thick, and she doesn't seem like the type to go bald, but the gray hair... you know?).

Just then, a phrase caught my eye: "New customer discount: 50% off hair coloring." She didn't seem keen on it, but I pushed her into the shop anyway.

About an hour later, when I went to pick her up, her expression, her voice, and of course her overall impression had changed dramatically!
The most appropriate word to describe it was "rejuvenated."

She seems a little dissatisfied with the color, but the before and after are like night and day! (Was it mud before? Haha...)
I know I'm the one saying it, but she really has a lovely atmosphere now.

After we got home, Riku gave her a huge welcome!
The moment I opened the door, he jumped on Mom and rubbed against her. He seemed curious about her hair (the color? the smell? the vibe?), and he was so happy, attacking her with sniffs and licks.
(He's sensitive to changes in women, too, isn't he? Haha)

If this helps lift Mom's spirits even a little, or provides even a small distraction, then it's a win.

May must be happy about it, too.
After all, a bright smile is better than a dark expression of sadness, right?
