When using text input apps like notes or email, it's often frustrating when you copy and paste text and it brings unwanted formatting along with it. 'Get Plain Text' is the solution to that problem.
What is Get Plain Text?
It is an app that automatically converts styled text in your clipboard into plain text.
It is a useful Mac OS utility program that converts copied text into plain text. This program removes everything that is not plain text, such as colors, typefaces, styles (e.g., bold/italic), links, and pictures. You can now insert plain text into letters and documents using copy-paste without having to clean it manually.
Everything that is not plain text is removed.
Simplify quotes: Replaces all characters („ “ ” » «) with " and all characters (› ‹ ‚ ‘ ’) with '.
It also automatically simplifies quotation marks.

How to use
Once installation is complete, launch 'Get Plain Text'.
Click the 'Get Plain Text' icon in the menu bar. The menu shown below will appear.
Select 'Auto-erase' and once the checkmark appears, the setup is complete. With just this setting, you can copy and paste styled text as plain text.
Settings
Click the "Get Plain Text" icon from the menu bar.
It is recommended to check "Launch at login" so that plain text is always pasted.
Also, if you want to simplify quotation marks, make sure to check "Simplify quotes".
