The 6 Most Difficult Years of My Life
I have
an intractable disease / spinocerebellar degeneration.
It has been 45 years since the abnormalities first appeared in my body. (23 years since the diagnosis.)

《1》 The difficult ○○ period
I spent 38 years walking on two legs.
Since being diagnosed, I have transitioned from
cane → walker → wheelchair.
Cane? Walker? Wheelchair?
The
most difficult time of my life
was
the 6 years using a walker.

I could barely walk by holding onto the walker.
Even when I went shopping at the supermarket, I couldn't let go of the walker, so I would buy things that caught my eye without looking at them closely.
After returning home, I would be disappointed by...
・Bananas that were still green
・Tomatoes that were still green
I love photography, but I could barely press the shutter.
The camera shake was terrible, and the composition was the worst...

I was too obsessed with
standing and walking
and endured the irrationality of
not being able to use both hands freely.

《2》 The situation changed completely!
The situation changed completely 11 years ago when I started living in a wheelchair.
My body became stable so when I went to the supermarket, shopping became fun.
I look at bananas and tomatoes carefully before buying them.
Because I am sitting, I have gained composure.

I started cooking after I began living in a wheelchair. Because my body became stable, I became able to cook. (*1)
Taking photos has also become fun. Because I am sitting, I have more composure and have started to carefully explore compositions. The thrill of looking up and photographing the blue sky and white clouds!
A small butterfly resting on a flower,
I take my time and snap many photos.

《3》 New Dreams
My current dreams are:
・A photo book of my creative cooking
・A photo book of flower tanka
(Flower photos with my own tanka poems)
to publish these.
I've grown tired of my smartphone camera, so
these days I find myself wanting a DSLR camera.
The photo below is
of a "Muscari" I photographed
after a light rain this spring,
along with a tanka poem I wrote.
《Dressed in jewels,
I fall in love with you again,
A stylish gesture
of the spring light rain》

《4》 Summary
