✍️The Loneliness I Felt Behind the Glamorous Appearance
Hello♪ I'm supporting challenges for those in their 50s and beyond📣
I'm Chikako Chika.
This is sudden, but
What is loneliness?
Are you lonely if you are alone?
If you have a husband, children, mom friends, and friends
and there are many people to talk to,
does that mean you aren't lonely?
About 30 years ago, I started my married life
in a land where I knew no one.
I didn't know anyone, and
there was no social media close at hand like there is now,
so at first, I started with friends from classes
with whom I could have casual small talk.
After my children were born,
I became friends with other moms raising children.
Once my children started attending kindergarten,
my children's friends' moms became my friends.
What was my stance among them?
Looking back now, I wonder how it was.
Was I conscious of being a doctor's wife?
That's just my theory😅
In those days, dramas about intense mom friends,
and magazines recommended being a wonderful, sparkling mom,
so I worked hard toward that.
Besides, in magazines, wives supporting high-income husbands seemed capable of anything,
and I lived thinking that was impossible for me.
So, I would say, "My husband is a doctor."
So, "My husband is a doctor."
If I say that,
am I trying to one-up people?
I'd brace myself, wondering if I was coming across as unpleasant, and often couldn't bring myself to speak up.
I wasn't exactly going around claiming I was 'just normal,' but I think that was the vibe I gave off.
I'm not a nurse, and I don't have any special qualifications,
being a doctor's wife is just a coincidence.
It makes me laugh😆
Talk about being self-conscious🙋
So, I felt lonely if I wasn't invited to something,
and lonely if I couldn't keep up with the conversation.
Even when I felt that way, I pretended I didn't and tried my best.
Nowadays, we don't judge people by their titles or professions, right?
It really is like that.
Right now, I finally feel like I'm standing on my own two feet,
that's the feeling I have.

Because I have nothing of my own,
My husband's seal case,
my children's seal case,
I always kept them in my inner pocket.
I'm okay now.
From the moment I realized it, I am enough!!!
Whether I'm alone or with someone,
I know it all depends on my own mindset.
What kind of seal case did you carry? A seal case? That's too old-fashioned (lol).
In this blog,
for women of my generation who are standing still like I once was, wondering, 'Is it okay to stay like this?'
to those women,
I will share concrete ways to 'live your own life once again'.
