Every time I fix a bug, the sound gets closer. Field recording app [OTO YACHO] development diary #02
Before I knew it, I was recording the sound of insects again today.
I never really have a specific purpose.
I am developing an app for field recording
on my own.
This time, it's another mundane story.
REC button to STOP button - I just changed that.
While recording, the button color changes.
From orange to red.
The waveform sways.
The timer runs.
Just those functions.
Even so, it took a whole day.
(I'm not exaggerating about the whole day.)

A record of trial and error
First time: the waveform looked like it had stopped.
I fixed it.
Second time: the playback time shifted after pausing.
I fixed it.
Third time: even after pressing STOP, the waveform kept moving.
I couldn't find the cause and was stuck for a while.
(I named this bug; I have a bad personality.)
In the end, the way I was handling state management was wrong.
I fixed one line, and it worked like a charm.
(Or maybe it wasn't 'like a charm,' but rather a complete lie.)
The more mundane the time spent, the more like an app it becomes.
The time spent fixing bugs
is longer than the time spent adding features.
A button that stops properly builds more trust than a flashy feature.
Development continues.
