Introduction to the Writer Research Institute: Features, Membership, and Contact Information

What is the Writer Research Institute?
The Writer Research Institute is an online community for writers and editors, operated by "Writer Magazine", a media outlet specializing in writers that introduces notable media, up-and-coming writers and editors, and trends in content and writing.
Activities began in 2020. Within the communication tool "Discord," over 200 members connect loosely on a daily basis to exchange information about the creator scene, share job opportunities, and consult on concerns.
At the monthly online events, we provide opportunities to interact with members active in various fields and to learn skills and insights cultivated on the front lines.
What kind of community is it?
Since the parent organization is an editorial production company founded in 2006, there are many experienced veteran writers and editors, and the atmosphere where you can easily ask, "How do you handle this?" is a major appeal.
On the other hand, you rarely see people who have chosen this community for the sake of compensation, such as "this is profitable right now" or "how to earn 100,000 yen a month," and such topics have never been a focus.
In addition, the Writer Research Institute is an officially recognized support community of the Freelance Association. There are also benefits such as invitations and special offers for Writer Research Institute members to attend paid events hosted by the Freelance Association.

What you can do at the Writer Research Institute
For a monthly fee of 500 yen, you can participate in all of the following activities:
Use of Discord bulletin boards for information exchange and networking
Posting your profile in the "Writer Directory"
Participation in writer networking events
Participation in online events
Viewing archives of past online events (excluding some)
Member-exclusive job postings
We also hold offline meetings and real-world events on an irregular basis.

How to join?
1. Fill out and submit the Google Form for membership.
2. Access the payment registration URL and enter your credit card information.
3. After payment registration is confirmed, follow the instructions in the Discord invitation email to join.
About the billing system
・The membership fee is 500 yen per month (tax included).
・No matter when you join, the next billing date is one month after joining. In other words, the price remains the same regardless of when you join.
・A credit card is required for registration. Bank transfers and similar methods are not supported.
About withdrawing from membership
Please follow the steps below to withdraw from the community.
1. Withdrawal Google Form Fill out and submit the form.
2. Billing will be stopped, and you will receive a cancellation notice within 2 to 3 days. You can continue to use Discord as a member until your next scheduled billing date. After the available period ends, you will be removed from Discord. Please note that membership fees already paid will not be refunded.
