Learning Together Through Practice: Care × Japanese Language Community = Jitsumana

About the "Jitsumana" Care × Japanese Language Community for Learning Together Through Practice

We are launching a study group for practitioners connecting nursing and caregiving sites with Japanese language education called
"Learning Together Through Practice: Care × Japanese Language Community (Abbreviation: Jitsumana)".

The concept of this study group is
"Practice, but Research".

1. Purpose and Vision of the Study Group

Jitsumana is a place where people involved in support and training gather to bring their respective practices, talk, and deepen their thinking.

While initiatives carried out in the field are being accumulated as experiences at individual facilities, hospitals, or by individuals, there are not many opportunities to stop and reflect, or to share and examine their meaning and value while being chased by daily tasks.

However, practice always has an underlying intention and judgment, and there is value in examining it academically.

At Jitsumana, we value:

◆ Presenting concrete examples of practice
◆ Discussing their significance and rationale by connecting them to papers and previous research as much as possible
◆ Listening to each other's practices and ideas to broaden our perspectives

It is not a place to evaluate someone's practice, but rather aims to lead to one's own growth through listening and thinking.

2. Activities

Activities will center around regular meetings held about four times a year.

A "practitioner" will give a presentation, and participants will engage as "listeners" in the following ways:

◇ Comments from the perspective of a practitioner
◇ Sharing experiences from other sites
◇ Introducing helpful research and literature

We emphasize that this is a place where practitioners learn from each other through dialogue, rather than just listening one-way.

1st Jitsumana Meeting
