🚗 Travel Footprints: A Prologue Leading to the Lake

About an hour's bus ride from Isawa Onsen.

As the scenery outside the window changed from the basin to the mountains,

the moment the view suddenly opened up, it appeared.

Mount Fuji, radiating an overwhelming presence.

"This mountain really is special..."

If you transfer to the Fujikyu Railway from Otsuki Station,

you can also enjoy that sense of excitement,

where cheers erupt in the train every time Mount Fuji comes into view.

Stepping off at Kawaguchiko Station, there was a dignified,

A slightly cool, clear breeze was blowing.

🗻 Regional Feature: A Lakeside Where Art and Nature Merge

The charm of Lake Kawaguchi isn't just its beautiful scenery.

Around the lake, there are unique art museums, Nordic-style cafes,

and parks fragrant with herbs scattered about.

With my favorite film camera hanging around my neck,

I walk slowly along the lakeshore.

The lake surface reflects Mount Fuji,

which shows its different expressions throughout the seasons, as an inverted Fuji.

Just by walking here,

I can feel my sensibilities, which had become a bit stiff in the city,

unraveling with a crisp sound.

This place is not just a tourist spot,

Perhaps it is a "sanctuary" for centering one's heart.

♨️ Hot Spring Tour: The "Infinity Bath" that becomes one with Mt. Fuji

The highlight of this trip is the inn's pride and joy: the panoramic open-air bath.

The moment I opened the door, I gasped at the view spreading out before me.

The edge of the bathtub is invisible,

as if the water flows directly into Lake Kawaguchi,

and Mt. Fuji towers beyond it in this **"Infinity Bath"**.

The warm chloride spring water gently warms me down to my fingertips.

"Compared to this view, any worries I have,

are just like tiny grains of sand, aren't they?"

The magnificent Mt. Fuji right in front of me and the mirror-like lake.

As I place myself within that silence,

my vision clears, and at the same time,

It felt as if all the unnecessary things in my heart were being washed away.

🍴 Food Tour: Golden Houtou that warms even the soul

What warms my chilled body from the inside out is...

the soul food you absolutely cannot miss when visiting Yamanashi: **"Houtou."**

The iron pot brought to the table was heavy and substantial,

and when the lid was lifted, steam billowed up all at once.

A miso-based soup where pumpkin melts to create a golden glow.

In it are chewy, flat noodles and

plenty of local vegetables.

"Hafu-hafu... it's hot, but so delicious..."

Every time I take a sip of the soup, infused with the gentle sweetness of the pumpkin,

a sense of happiness spreads slowly from the bottom of my stomach.

An unadorned, yet powerful taste of the earth.

This is the ultimate spice of travel.

  • The crisp air the moment I stepped off at Kawaguchiko Station. Unlike the heavy air of the city, it was a refreshing feeling that seemed to wash deep into my lungs.

  • The feeling of weightlessness in the infinity open-air bath. At the boundary where the lake and the tub melt into one, I felt my worries melting away too.

• Discoveries about myself:

  • I had been rushing, thinking I 'had to do something,' but I found a sense of security in knowing I can just stand firm like Mount Fuji.

  • The warmth of Houtou noodles is like human kindness. Clumsy, thick, but warming you from the core.

• Train: Transfer to the Fujikyu Railway at JR Chuo Line 'Otsuki Station.' About 1 hour to 'Kawaguchiko Station.' If you take the Fuji View Express, you can enjoy the spectacular scenery even while traveling.

• Bus: It takes about an hour by local bus from the Isawa Onsen area. The breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji that jumps into your sight as you cross the Misaka Pass is a must-see.
