Musical 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' at Nissay Theatre
The splendor of projection mapping like I have never seen before

I didn't see the premiere (@Imperial Theatre), so this was my first time seeing the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical. I was surprised by the splendor and high quality of the projection mapping, which was unlike anything I have ever seen. The stage sets were also truly magnificent. Even though I was in the audience, I felt the excitement as if I were touring the chocolate factory along with them.
If projection mapping is to be used in future theatrical productions, it might feel pointless to use it unless it reaches the level of this Charlie and the Chocolate Factory stage.
Since I don't know the premiere at the Imperial Theatre, I can't compare, but considering the characteristics of the theatre, I thought this production was a perfect fit for the Nissay Theatre.
The high stage ceiling, the uniquely shaped walls of the auditorium, and the beauty of the lighting unique to the Nissay Theatre.
I was very satisfied to be able to see the play at Nissay this year.
The thrill of seeing the world of the movie version appear on stage exactly as it is...

The child actors are all triple-cast
The child actors were all so full of personality, and their dancing and acting were wonderful. The child actors are triple-cast for each role.
I wonder if they are in a state of 'who is it today?' for every daily performance? I think the rehearsals must have been tough too.
Anyway, the scenes are full of singing and dancing while holding the stage.
It wouldn't be possible unless they were very talented child actors.
The evening performance ended at 20:55, which I thought was an awkward time, but
it was because child actors in theater are only allowed to perform until 9:00 PM.

Before the show and during the intermission, stage photography is allowed until 5 minutes before the start

Koichi Domoto is truly a star after all
I haven't seen Koichi-san since last year's Knite's Tale Arena LIVE. There was someone at the Nissay Theatre today carrying a KT tote bag, and that tote has a large pocket on the outside that is easy to use, so I find it useful too lol.
Koichi-san is perfect for Wonka! And his dancing is beautiful♡
Just like Shingo-chan in 'Shinjuku-hatsu~' the day before yesterday, Koichi-san also
has a kind of magic that attracts the audience just by standing in the center...
Since Kosakai-san is currently absent due to injury, Grandpa Joe was played by Seishiro-san.
He was a kind and warm grandfather, and I thought he was very well-suited for the role.
There is also the customary performance drink!

I made sure to have the performance drink during the intermission this time as well.
It's also nice that there is a 25-minute intermission.
While it's not a work with an intense message, it's a truly fun story that can excite both adults and children.
And, of course, it makes you want to eat chocolate after watching the show!
