Convinced by Shikiko Sakurai's book! My experience with my home's protective talismans and the Tanashi Shrine talisman
The other day, I read Shikiko Sakurai's new book, "God's Talismans."
It really is a book that could be called a "talisman dictionary," packed with all sorts of information, from how to enshrine talismans to the benefits they provide.
There was also a brief mention of amulets and protective charms, which I found very interesting.
Shikiko Sakurai's books are always truly fascinating. She diligently visits various shrines and records in detail the state of the shrines in those areas and the gods who reside there. I haven't finished reading all of her books yet, but I feel that none of them are misses. In this latest book, "God's Talismans," I was impressed by the fact that she also visited small to medium-sized shrines.
What I became convinced of through Shikiko Sakurai's book
While reading this book, the part that really made me slap my knee and think, "I see!" was the section written about the protective charms of Mount Hiei. To my surprise, it was exactly the same as the "Tsunodaishi (Horned Daishi) protective talisman" that I have posted in my home!
The book stated that this talisman "properly protects you." I couldn't help but wholeheartedly agree with this.
I shouted in my heart, "I knew it, I knew it!" because there was actually a mysterious event that made me think this charm was protecting my home.
I felt very relieved, realizing once again, "So this really does work."
My home's power spot! The power of two talismans
Actually, both this Tsunodaishi talisman and the first talisman from Tanashi Shrine are posted in my home's entryway.
First, I hung the Tanashi Shrine's first talisman in the entryway, and there is a story behind that. For many years, the space from my home's entryway leading to the stairs always felt cold, and there was a somewhat scary atmosphere.
At first, I just thought it felt that way because it was dark.
Around that time, I had the opportunity to receive the "first talisman" from Tanashi Shrine, which is said to be bestowed between the Niiname-sai festival and Setsubun.
As soon as I hung it in the entryway, the scary feeling stopped completely!
This was truly surprising.
I clearly realized, "It really is amazing; it's emitting a vibration that keeps evil spirits away."
I had been curious about Tanashi Shrine for a while because various spiritual people had introduced it before.
After that, I was also able to receive a Tsunodaishi protective charm at Jindai-ji Temple, so I posted that in the entryway as well, making it truly "foolproof."
By the way, this Tsunodaishi protective charm comes as a set of two.
Reading Shikiko Sakurai's "God's Talismans" this time, I was able to reconfirm that the power of the talismans and charms I had vaguely felt until now is real. I want to continue to enshrine them with care.
