Ten days have already passed since the start of the new year.
Perhaps because there are many cold days this winter, even in Nara where it doesn't snow much, we are seeing flurries here and there.
The knit project I started last month is still not finished, so I am focusing on knitting it.
Since I spun the yarn quite a while ago, it is taking weeks just to knit it.
The wool used is from a breed of sheep called Jacob.
The base is a dark gray, with white and brown hairs mixed in here and there.
I spun the yarn thinly, but it has a fuzzy texture and firmness, making for a fluffy knitted fabric.
I am knitting in stockinette stitch, but I am thinking of using the purl side as the front.
Since this is the first time I am knitting this item, I am moving forward and backward, gradually shaping it.
I want to see the finished product soon, but I am advancing my needles one step at a time without rushing.

Today, I have been steaming rice since the morning to make rice koji.
I will use it to make miso.
While I was steaming the rice, a neighbor said,
“It smells so good!”
to me.
And, I received a lot of summer oranges.
I think I will make something with them when I have some time.
