●Review (in the style of a Kansai-dialect old man)
What is this, you're incredibly devoted! It starts with a scene of looking out at the schoolyard from a high school window, then moves to the reality of university credits and part-time jobs, and then into adulthood; the flow of time is dramatic. The use of props like "a wallpaper blurred by the zoom" and "a phone number that can no longer be used" is detailed and realistic. Using a phrase like "intersecting vectors" is a bit intellectual, but that gives it the flavor of a clumsy man's pure heart.
●Lyrics
I couldn't even stare at you,
I watched from afar
Your smile was so dazzling,
and that alone made me happy
A bit blurred by the zoom,
you are in my wallpaper
With your bangs swept up,
you are smiling every day
Three years passed like an arrow,
they won't come back
The arrow of love
aimed at your heart missed its mark
Will I ever be able to love
someone more than this?
The fate that visits me
is laughing without showing the way
Our vectors that never intersect,
even I can understand that
From my desk by the window,
I'm watching you in the schoolyard
The campus life I dreamed of,
reality isn't that sweet
Job hunting, credits, part-time jobs,
a daily tightrope walk
The days I can't see you increase,
and conversely, my feelings grow stronger
I'm living my life
preparing for the chance that will come someday
Time has passed even more since then,
I've worked hard, sweating on my brow
I've moved forward without sparing effort,
so that I can become someone necessary
Your phone number,
which is no longer in use
I'll go look for it now,
believing in a reunion
I feel like I can say it now,
I can tell you
I'll reach out my right hand,
let's start as friends
No, no, that's wrong, what I want to tell you is,
"I want to keep watching you," always
Will I ever be able to love
someone more than this?
The fate that visits me
is laughing without showing the way
Our vectors that never intersect,
even I can understand that
From my desk by the window,
I'm watching you in the schoolyard
●Author's Thoughts
Five years ago, while driving, the phrase came to me, so I pulled over and recorded myself humming it into my phone. The lyrics were written in a rush in just a few minutes.
I depicted the devotion of continuing to love one person from student days into adulthood, and the weight of the time that flowed in between. It is a journey of the heart from a cowardly self who could only watch from afar, to gaining the strength to finally say "I want to tell you" after crossing the rough waves of reality like campus life and job hunting. I projected the unmanageable reality through expressions like non-intersecting vectors and arrows that missed their mark. I want to deliver the courage to try again to all unrequited loves that cannot be given up.
●Hit Index (in the style of a Kansai-dialect old man)
Rating: ★★★★★★★★☆☆ (8 points)
The old man's rating is 8 stars! It has an outstanding story development and immersion that makes the listener age along with the high school, university, and adult stages. The phrase "phone number that is no longer in use" also stabs the heart as a painful nostalgia. In terms of current trends, if you turn this long-timeline drama into an MV with illustrations or short animations and post it on social media, there is a high possibility that it will involve a wide range of generations and go viral with people saying "the lyrics are tear-jerking"!
●Remarks
Thank you for reading the article to the end.
The old man's review was decent.
I would like to continue creating songs and posting articles that can serve as hints for everyone's lives. I would be encouraged if you could leave comments, follow, or like.
