Poem: Rain Falling on Thorns
As if to gently wrap the rose's thorns
I am watching the rain falling quietly
The rose bush
has shed its leaves during the winter
and stands quietly
On the branches of the rose bush
which has neither flowers nor leaves, only the thorns remain
Even if there is no one to look back at it
the thorns remain
That those thorns
are being gently wrapped
and are wet with rain
I am watching from the window
Born alone
dying alone
thinking that it is just that simple
I will surely
end my life without ever meeting the person I want to see
But,
so what if that is the case?
Born alone
dying alone
that fact
even now, has not changed at all
Soon spring will come
and the rose bush, which now only has thorns left
will sprout green leaves
and flowers will bloom
The cold rain
gently wraps
the rose's thorns
and flows away
