The Soul's Sanctuary 'Waraiba'—The Shop Inside My Head
Updated July 25, 2026
At first, 'Waraiba' was a coffee shop that existed only within my novels. However, before I knew it, I began to wish that I myself could stand behind the counter as the master and be there for the 'now' of those who visit.
The origin of the shop name 'Waraiba':
I want it to be a place where those who visit can find a smile.
I named it with that wish in mind. Until now, I have entrusted this to the characters in my novels, especially the master of Waraiba. Though he has a sharp tongue, his words as a man who has seen hardship carry weight and a sense of reliability. That is why everyone who interacts with him wants to come back for advice...
I, too, want to be someone people can rely on and find comfort in, just like him. I want to recreate that by borrowing the name 'Waraiba'.
What Irouta's 'Waraiba' is like:
The 'Waraiba' I imagine has the exterior of a calm, traditional folk house. Inside the small shop, there are wooden tables and chairs where a few groups can sit, as well as a bar counter. Customers who come to the shop can just relax there without doing anything in particular. They can also talk to the master about their troubles. Yes, a place as comfortable as a second home. That is the 'Waraiba' I imagine.
Sometimes, book clubs or poetry readings are held here as well. I would also like it to be a place where artists can gather and interact. Furthermore, I would love for middle and high school students who are truant, or anyone who feels they have no place at home, to use it. Irouta's 'Waraiba' is a place that accepts everyone.
In the novels, 'Waraiba' was a coffee shop in its initial setting. However, as it became deeply involved in the story, it transformed into a place where various things happen—a liaison office, an exhibition hall, a music studio, a banquet hall, and so on. This is because 'Waraiba' began to function as a place that answers the troubles of all kinds of people. By now, it might no longer be a coffee shop, but rather a jack-of-all-trades.
The 'Waraiba' I imagine feels just like that.
To those who feel they have no place to belong.
Here, you don't have to prove anything.
Everyone is welcome to be here.
If these words greeted you, wouldn't you want to drop by?

From the world of stories to the real world—:
The 'Waraiba' I just spoke of is still a fictional shop.
But it is truly alive within me.
That is because 'Waraiba' is a 'place for my soul' to belong.
There is someone waiting for my words.
There is someone waiting for your words.
When 'Waraiba' takes shape one day,
my soul and yours will resonate here.
