It just overflows.
As I wrote in my recent Iro Diary, this month is the birthday month of a friend I write letters to every month, and I sent her a gift a little late.
The next day, I got a LINE message saying the gift had arrived.
She loves books too, so I sent her a book card so she could buy the books she likes, and so I could contribute even a little to the bookstore in the beloved land she moved to.
I also packed a 100-size cardboard box full of the birthday card I posted in my recent Iro Diary, and my usual three sacred treasures (Karl, Kansai Dashi Soy Sauce flavored potato chips, and Donbei Curry Udon). lol
Her LINE message said,
"I started eating the Karl right away and read the card, and tears came to my eyes."
Then she added,
"Having a friend who thinks of me like this is the greatest gift of all. Let's grow old together."
Tears welled up in my eyes at that message.
Actually, I once told her, "I don't want to live a long life." I said that 50 or so would be enough.
About seven or eight years later, she asked me if I wanted to live a little longer than 50.
Since I took in my cat, I've told her that I have to live because I'm responsible for the cat until it dies.
She must have remembered me saying I didn't want to live a long life all this time.
That is exactly why she said, "Let's grow old together."
I have hardly ever talked to anyone about my own pain, and her words, knowing a part of my suffering, were filled with deep feeling.
To me, she is more like family than just a friend. Because of her family circumstances, she grew up without living with her family from a young age, so I want her to think of me as family.
But that is my own selfish wish, so it doesn't matter what she thinks.
From now on, no matter what happens, I will live thinking of her as my family.
And then,
"If you ever think, 'I can't take it anymore!', let's call each other," we said, and the tears just wouldn't stop falling.
"At that time, no matter where you are or what you're doing, I will definitely, definitely fly to you."
I'm sure we were both looking at our LINE screens, unable to stop the tears.
How lucky it is to be able to cry like this.
But I haven't been able to see her since June 2022.
I want to see her, oh, I want to see her so much.
Along with the tears, so many feelings just come overflowing out.
No matter how far apart we are, no matter how much we can't meet, someone precious is always precious at any time.
Even if our bodies cannot be by each other's side, I want our hearts to always be close.

Maybe the photo will appear in my walking diary again?
The language of dogwood flowers reflects history and culture, and includes meanings that symbolize love and friendship such as "eternal happiness," "I will protect you," as well as "a heart that thinks of you," "compassion," and "gratitude."
There are also flower meanings like "requital," "permanence," and "please accept my feelings."
I chose it because I thought it was the perfect flower for the header image of this article.
Well, that's all for now.
Thank you for your hard work today.
Thank you for reading until the end.
Please come back if you feel like it.
