[Held on 5/16] A Large Coloring Project Created by Everyone: From Searching for the 'Right Answer' to Finding Your Own 'Colors'
We at "Irodori" believe that every person has their own unique and beautiful 'color'.
However, in our daily lives, we often find ourselves walking toward a 'right answer' decided by someone else before we even realize it.
It feels a bit wasteful to paint over your own beautiful colors with a 'right answer' when you have them inside you.
That is how we feel.
In this event, through two 'Art x Work' sessions, you will experience the joy of expressing your own unique 'colors' and
discover what kind of world is created when everyone's individual 'colors' come together.
There is absolutely no need to be good at drawing or art. In fact, those who feel they are 'not very good at it' are more than welcome.
The goal is not to create something 'pretty,' but to look inward at the 'colors' within yourself.
However, the feeling of thinking you have to draw well or feeling embarrassed is also very important.
There is no need to pretend those feelings of embarrassment don't exist or to force yourself to draw.
Let's take a slow, comfortable pace to look into your heart and find your 'colors'.
Work 1: [Swapping Picture Books]
Fold a single sheet of paper in half to make four pages. Try writing a short story on it.
For example,
1: A rabbit
2: with a turtle
3: had a race
4: and the rabbit won
A story like that. Don't overthink it; whatever pops into your head on the spot is fine. In fact, whatever pops into your head is best.
Then, swap that story with the person next to you. Try drawing an illustration based on what you feel from the story they created.
Work ② [Inconvenient Puzzle]
We will all color one picture together.
It is easy for one person to color a picture. However, it is difficult for multiple people to color the same picture.
This is because you don't know what colors others will use.
But when we finally put the picture colored by everyone back together, we will surely be able to see a form that could not have been created by one person alone.
Please tell us what you feel when you look at that picture.

From the colors in our daily lives, our work, and our meals, our lives are literally overflowing with various colors.
We believe that each and every one of them is beautiful and unique.
Birds have many ways of flapping their wings, and if we replace that flapping with 'people,' perhaps each person can flap their wings freely in their own way.
It's perfectly fine for there to be all sorts of ways to do that. That is the meaning we have infused into this name.
