I want to be a stakeholder in connecting peace

At our NPO Sukiccha Kitakyushu, we engage in activities such as passing on the charm of the city to children, disaster prevention community development, and fostering community, with the goal of helping residents deepen their attachment to their city through collaboration with local areas.
By collaborating with local areas, we aim to help the people living in those towns deepen their attachment to them.
We carry out activities such as passing on the charm of the city to children, disaster prevention community development, and fostering community.

Starting this fiscal year, we launched the 'Future Discussion Project' with the idea of not only engaging in local initiatives but also conducting activities that create the future for the entire region, the entire city, and society as a whole.

We will also implement approaches to people, the environment, and society, such as ESD and SDGs, as well as support for the revitalization of civic activities, social education, and lifelong learning.

The day before yesterday, we held a lecture on the SDGs.
I hope to embody something, even if it is just a little bit at a time, in this way.

Even within this lecture, I couldn't help but put a lot of effort into the part about 'peace,' and I ended up talking for longer than I had planned, haha.

By putting it into words,
I realized just how strong the feelings for peace in my heart really are.

We will hold a lecture at the 'Manabito ESD Station' in the Uomachi Gintengai shopping street in Kokurakita Ward.

'ESD,' which is education for creating a sustainable world, is often perceived as being only about environmental issues, but
I believe that matters related to peace are also a very important theme.
This wonderful lecture will be held under the sponsorship of the Kitakyushu ESD Council.

We will have lectures from Mr. Saotome, who is working on passing on the history of the Great Tokyo Air Raid, and
Mr. Shigenobu, the director of the Peace Museum of Kitakyushu.
They will each give a lecture.

And, to my great honor, I have been asked to serve as the facilitator for the talk session in Part 3, the 'Talking Place'.

I would like to develop the talk session by also including Director Watanabe, who recorded the memories of the Yahata Air Raid using the method of oral history, and
Ms. Haraga, who depicted the history of the relationship between the Itozu Zoo and the war in a picture book,
as well as the two people who gave lectures earlier.

As the facilitator of the talk session, I hope to bring important parts to the surface and clarify them.

Things that resonate and evoke empathy,
things that are important for future prospects,
how to convey and leave them to the next generation,
and what kind of thoughts we carry as we engage in our activities.

I hope to draw out more and more from these wonderful people.

There is no doubt that it will be a wonderful lecture.

It will soon be 80 years since the end of the war.

I want to express something by the 80th anniversary of the end of the war.

People born at the end of the war are now 80 years old.
People who were 10 years old at the time are now 90.

While there are still people who remember the war realistically and vividly,
I feel we must pass the baton to the generation that only sees it as history in textbooks.

My grandparents lived through the ravages of war.
I am of the generation that heard stories from that time from my grandparents.

That is why I want to be a 'stakeholder'.

As a stakeholder, I want to pass the baton of the wish for peace that I received from my grandparents to the next generation, and I want to multiply that baton and pass it on to many more people.
