Personnel changes are someone else's business
Today is the last day of this fiscal year.
There is a boundary between today and tomorrow, and many things change.
The most representative example of this is undoubtedlypersonnel transfers.
With the transfers effective April 1st, various things happened in my workplace, around me, and to me personally.
There were surprise personnel changes, as well as
promotions and transfers—congratulatory and celebratory personnel changes.
Conversely, there were also... those kinds of personnel changes.
I often hear the phrase, 'Personnel changes are someone else's business.'
I would like to think about that.
It is a positive topic, so please take a look.
The interesting illustration at the beginning is used with permission fromAomy.|note. Thank you.
1. An organization is its people
After all, an organization is its people.
Even though the position and duties should be the same,it is often the case that things are completely different just because the person has changed.
Things change for the better, or for the worse.
Sometimes they change in both quality and quantity,
and sometimes the tone, or color, changes completely.
It would be great if human resources could shine as human assets.
In that sense, it is about putting the right person in the right place.
It would be great if both the person and the organization could shine.
2. Personnel evaluation
'Personnel evaluation' (jinji kouka) is a difficult term, and it is easy to mistake it for 'personnel effect' (jinji kouka) (laughs).
It is not effect, but evaluation.
It means thinking about the person and their challenges before deciding on a transfer. Is it a career boost?
I mentioned earlier that an organization's color changes depending on the people,
but there are also many cases wherea person's color changes or they growdepending on the organization or the work.
There is also growth through meeting people in the workplace.
If you mix with vermilion, you turn red.
Perhaps good talent is nurtured in a good environment.
Also, I think there is the idea that
roles make the person.
Even if the hurdle is a bit high, by being selected, one grows accordingly and becomes active—I think that can happen too.
Personnel transfers are,
I believe, done with the aim of such growth,
and with that person's best interests in mind.
If it goes well, it could even be called a personnel "effect"!!
3. Personnel matters are someone else's business
From this phrase,
the "personnel" department that decides transfers and treatment
is often used as if it were "someone else's business"—a somewhat cold and heartless term, isn't it?
That is wrong.
As mentioned above,
it is done with the organization in mind,
wishing for the growth of human resources,
and considering that person's career, steps, and path. I believe that is what it is.
I think it is about thinking of each individual "person."
Seeing the personnel transfer announcement this time,
I encountered various emotions, from joy to disappointment.
After going through a few cycles,
gazing at the beautiful cherry blossoms,
I was able to output my thoughts here like this.
I am sure it is a personnel decision for each of us—myself, the people around me, the seniors who have taken care of me, and the juniors I care about.
Another year will pass, and when the next cherry blossoms bloom,
this season will arrive again.
So that I can be proud of myself next year,
and so that I can meet the organization's expectations,
I want to continue building up my days.
Thank you for reading again today.
To everyone opening new doors at this spring milestone,
I am sure a bright future awaits you.
I am sure you will be able to carve out a bright future.
Every morning, as I write my note, I am rooting for you.
