[Amazon Prime Day] 11 Recommended Gadgets for a Comfortable Workspace, Seriously Selected by a Remote Engineer
As a remote engineer, the comfort of your workspace is directly linked to productivity. From the gadgets I have actually used and felt were great, I have picked out items that you can buy at a great price right now during Amazon Prime Day.
Some of these are items I bought right before they went on sale, which brought me to tears, so if you are interested, now might be your chance to buy them.
Keyboard
Logicool MX KEYS mini KX700PG
I love this for its typing feel, the ability to switch between multiple devices, and the button layout being similar to a MacBook.
I broke mine and replaced it two months ago, only to find it on sale now. If you are going to buy it, do it now.
Mouse/Trackpad
Logicool Silent Wireless Trackball Mouse M575SPd
I recommend a trackball mouse so you don't have to move your hand.
If you have never used a trackball and aren't sure if you'll get used to it, this is a great entry-level model.
For those who want to connect multiple devices, like for work and personal use, or for those who want to satisfy their desire for new gear, the MX ERGO is the way to go.
Bonus:
It's not on sale, but I personally recommend the Magic Trackpad. Beyond its operability, it's great because you don't need a mouse when carrying your MacBook, and the feel is the same, so it doesn't add to your luggage.
Apple genuine is the only choice. The only downside is that it still doesn't support multipoint connection.
Charger
ELECOM Charger Type-C 2-Port 45W USB PD Compatible PPS Compatible
I switched all the chargers at home to fast chargers. You can never have too much charging speed.
Compared to others, the price is low and the brand is reliable, so I recommend it.
Display
LG Monitor 34SR63QA-W 34-inch Curved Ultrawide (3440×1440)
I used to work with a MacBook and two displays, but I bought a wide monitor and consolidated to one display. It reduces the number of cables and secures workspace, so I recommend it.
Green House Monitor Arm for Large Screens, Supports 17-49 inches, Load Capacity 2-20kg, Gas Spring, 4-Axis, White GH-AMDU1-WH
I was using one rated for 32 inches for my 34-inch wide monitor, but I was dissatisfied with the stability, so I replaced it. It's an unknown brand, but buying this was the right choice.
UPGRAVITY Laptop Arm Laptop Stand
I use a laptop, and I have it lifted with an arm.
I use an inexpensive, unknown brand that comes with an arm and tray, and it works without any issues, so I recommend it.
Since I rarely move it, either one is fine, but the fact that tools are required for height adjustment is a slight drawback.
It is a bit pricey, but I think one option is to get one that allows height adjustment or buy a separate arm and swap out the tray.
Earphones
Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro
Anker Soundcore AeroClip
For going out, I found that canal-type earphones, which don't have to worry about sound leakage, suit me, while for working from home, ear-cuff types that don't put a burden on the ears are better.
Among them, I recommend the following as items that offer great value for money and satisfy the desire to own something nice.
For those who think Apple or Sony are too expensive! These aren't cheap, but they are products you will be satisfied with.
Bonus Section:
If possible, I wanted to recommend the Liberty 5, which was released generally around last month, but since it's not on sale, I'm introducing it in the bonus section. You'll be torn by the exquisite pricing where the 4 Pro's sale price is even lower. Honestly, you won't regret buying either. Whether you want the new 5 or the 4 Pro, which is 1,000 yen cheaper—do as you like.
Once the sale ends, the Liberty 5 is the only choice for value for money.
Smart Speakers
echo pop / spot / show
I had an echo dot at home, but the microphone pickup was poor, and there were many times when the response was slow.
Compared to others, only the dot was stressful, so I replaced it at this opportunity, and it became incomparably better.
If you want it to double as a clock, I recommend the spot or show; otherwise, the cheap pop is recommended. Avoid the dot or the standard model.

Desk Accessories
Cable Holder Magnetic Cable Clip
I tried various things like the magnetic type released by Anker, but I settled on this one.
If anyone is struggling with this, please give it a try.
JISULIFE Desk Fan Quiet Small
I use it to blow air on my laptop to prevent heat buildup. It is also effective for Wi-Fi routers. If you think something is wrong, try checking if it's getting hot. Especially in the summer.
I chose this one considering the price and appearance.
Summary
While continuing to develop from home, 'investing in the environment' leads to productivity and a better mood.
The items introduced this time are mainly things that I have actually used, felt were good purchases, and continue to use.
As a remote engineer, if you are thinking, 'I want to update my work tools a little' or 'I want to improve my comfort,' please take advantage of this timing.
