Making note easier to write and easier to share: Introducing our July improvement initiatives

To make note a more user-friendly place, we are working on improvement initiatives every day. In July, we focused on improvements to make writing articles on note easier, and to make it easier to share the articles you create with more people.

Also, starting this time, we have begun audio distribution to answer some of the feedback received in the "Improvement Suggestion Box." We will report on this at the end of this article!

■Making creation more stress-free. Beta version of the new article creation screen released

Currently, at note, we are working on improvements to the article creation screen (editor). We have worked to increase the freedom when creating articles by supporting various shortcuts and Markdown notation, and allowing images, files, and various embedded elements to be moved via drag-and-drop.

To make this editor even better, we are releasing it in advance to those registered for note Premium. Please try it out and send us your feedback. We are also waiting for your impressions with #noteNewEditor!

■SNS share images are now automatically displayed even if there is no header image for the article

We know that "articles with header images are read by more people," but it is hard to find the time to create them. In response to this feedback, when sharing an article without a header image on SNS, we have made it so that an image is automatically generated from information such as the article title and creator name. This makes it easier to catch the eyes of others on the timeline, increasing the chances of your article being read.

■ Screen readers are now even easier to use

note is currently working on strengthening accessibility. This month, layout selection and sales settings on the magazine creation and settings change screenare now supported for screen reader reading. Triggered by requests sent to our inquiry form, we raised the development priority and responded the next day.

■ Smartphone apps are now even easier to use

Smartphone apps are also becoming easier to use. In July, we updated the following points.

・Added "Trending Hashtags" to the "Discover" tab・You can now share from the bottom of articles・You can now select text in an article and share it as a quote from the toolbar・You can now enlarge and check images in image articles you are editing・You can now hide recommendations

・Recommended creators and recommended articles from everyone are now displayed・The "Auto-save function" has been restored

Currently, note has opened a "Summer Vacation Support Special" page. In addition to events and videos, we are also holding theme projects such as "#SummerIndependentResearch" and "#SummerBookReport." We hope this will be a trigger for your creative work and new challenges this summer.

Introducing some of the 141 pieces of feedback received in the "Improvement Suggestion Box"

note has an "Improvement Suggestion Box" that accepts requests for functional improvements. Starting this month, we will introduce some of the feedback received there and convey the thoughts of the note management team.

We received 141 requests in July! Thank you for all your feedback. We will introduce some of them.

I want the option to not display "Recommended articles for you" on my timeline
→ Since we have received a lot of feedback, you can now choose to display either "Following" or "Recommended"! We are also continuing to consider how the recommendation system works.

The screen is too bright and hurts my eyes, so I want a dark mode
→ Based on your requests, it is currently under development. Look forward to the release!

I want a feature to search for specific creators
→ In response to your requests, we implemented the feature in April!
