In the new version of the article editor (the new editor), over 15 new features have been added! You will be able to create a wide variety of articles tailored to the expression you want. After receiving your feedback and opinions, we will continue to power it up further. Please give it a try!

New Editor (Beta Version) Overview

Features available in the new editor

* Notes on usage
Articles edited using the new features added on October 21, 2021 (bullet points, subheadings, right alignment, etc.) cannot be edited in the previous editor on web browsers. Please be aware of this in advance.

1. Expansion of expressive power

① Subheading (h3)

The previous heading has become a main heading (h2), and a new subheading (h3) has been added. When you want to change the topic. When you want to emphasize text. The range of your creation expands in various situations.

② Bulleted/Numbered lists

Typing “-” + a half-width space creates a bulleted list, and “1.” + a half-width space creates a numbered list. You can set them from “Bulleted list” or “Numbered list” within the + button on the left. This is convenient when you want to organize your points or explain steps.

• You can set up to 5 levels of hierarchy.

  • To indent a bulleted list, use

  • To outdent, use

    • Shift + Tab key

3. Right align

In addition to left and center alignment, you can now right-align text. After selecting the target text, you can set it to right-align from the screen.

4. Strikethrough

You can now use strikethrough on text. With the text selected, set it from the menu that appears. It also supports Markdown shortcuts (~~target text~~). This is useful for keeping a history of changes when you edit your note later.

5. Citing sources

When using quotes, you can now include the source in the bottom right. This can be used when quoting passages from novels, movie lines, or favorite sentences from articles written by other creators. You can also embed a URL in the source. By including the source URL, the credibility of the information increases, so please make use of it.

6. Horizontal rule

If you want to separate content in your article, you can now use a horizontal rule. Set it from the "Horizontal rule" option within the + button on the left. It also supports Markdown syntax (---).

You can use it like this when you want to separate the content of your article.

7. Ruby (furigana)

You can now add ruby (furigana) above characters for difficultdifficultkanjikanji, place namesplace names, articlesarticles that contain them, articlesarticles for childrenchildren, or novelsnovels. To useuse it, inputinput a "" (vertical bar) at the |startstart of the texttext you want to add ruby to, and "《 》" (double angle brackets) at the endend, then inputinput the ruby insideinside the "《 》".

8. Smoother line breaks and paragraph changes

Press Enter once for a line break, and twice to start a new paragraph.

9. Bulk upload of multiple images

You can upload your images all at once and insert them into your article. Drag-and-drop is also supported. Uploading of GIF animations is supported.

10. Upload header images via drag-and-drop

You can intuitively upload not only images within the article but also header images.

11. Setting alternative text (alt attribute) for images

You can specify the content of an image with text. This is used if the image fails to display for any reason, or when readers use a screen reader to read note.

You can now enter a caption to supplement the content of an image. When you enter a caption, it will be displayed as shown below.With the November 19th update, you can now also freely add line breaks to captions.

14. Move text, images, and various embedded elements via drag-and-drop

You can now move elements within the text using drag and drop. For text, keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + Shift + Up/Down keys) are also supported, allowing for intuitive operation.

⑮ Copy & paste while maintaining styles

You can now copy and paste from other editors, such as Google Docs, while maintaining the original styles. Additionally, you can paste without maintaining styles by using the Ctrl + Shift + V keys.

⑯ Full-screen display for the publishing settings screen

By displaying the "settings screen" for hashtags and adding to magazines in full-screen mode, you can utilize a wider space for operations.

⑰ Display URLs embedded in text while editing

For example, when you want to embed a note official article into text like "How to use note, feature introduction." You can now view and edit the embedded URL while editing in the new editor. (* This will not be displayed when readers view the article.)

⑱ Prompt for conflicting drafts when editing simultaneously on multiple devices

When editing an article simultaneously on multiple devices or tabs, such as the iOS app and a PC, the system will now present the conflicting draft content, allowing you to choose before it gets overwritten.

If you are using a Mac, you can perform the same operations using Ctrl = Command (⌘) and Alt = Option keys.
