Interacting with readers leads to new content! The "note Q&A Box" is now available to everyone

Introducing the new "note Q&A Box (beta)" feature, which allows you to receive questions from readers and fans and publish your answers.Based on feedback from early access users, we have added several features and made it available to everyone! The Q&A Box is a "dedicated question and answer page" that works in conjunction with your note account. You can openly accept questions from readers and publish your answers.

note Q&A Box

While you can answer questions via social media DMs or external services, interactions can get lost, and because they take place outside of your own content creation activities, the connection to your work can be difficult to see.

With the Q&A Box, you can easily answer questions from readers while compiling those interactions as part of your own content. As questions and answers accumulate, your thoughts and knowledge become easier for other readers to understand, and the questions you receive can lead to new content.

To set up a Q&A Box, simply log in to your note account andhttps://note.com/qa access this link (detailed steps are provided in the second half of this article).

Here are some ways you can use it

When you're not sure "what to write next"
Questions from readers can be the spark for your next article or post. Just like letters to a radio show, try receiving feedback on "what people want to know."

As a replacement for Google Forms
You can consolidate the question requests you previously handled via Google Forms or similar services into your Q&A Box. From collecting questions before an event, accepting questions for a shop or brand, to gathering letters for a podcast, you can complete everything from receiving questions to publishing answers in one place.

Before an event or a new book release
Collecting questions at the time of an event or release, such as "things I want to ask the speaker in advance" or "things I'm curious about regarding the new book," will bring you much closer to your fans. It can also be used for limited-time question collection.

When you want to convey your thoughts and experiences
By answering frequently asked questions, you will naturally build a page that conveys your expertise and way of thinking.

Closing the distance with fans and readers
Behind-the-scenes stories of your work, points you were particular about, things that influenced you. You can use questions as an opportunity to put into words things you don't usually write about.

For interaction with subscription (membership or paid magazine) participants
You can set it up to accept questions exclusively from subscribers. It can be a way to deepen your bond with fans, such as by using it as a suggestion box or for requesting future content.

For corporations and organizations to use on owned media
By answering questions about your services or organization, you can cultivate FAQ content that leads to trust. It can also be used for collecting questions before events, handling questions from job candidates, or as a limited-time Q&A during new product releases.

Feedback from early access

Prior to the release, we conducted an early access period for about two weeks starting May 12th. Over 1,000 creators from various genres, including manga artists, illustrators, editors, essayists, culinary experts, and community managers, set up Q&A Boxes, and unique ways of using them tailored to their respective activities have emerged.

Manga artist Mitsuru Sugaya
He carefully answers questions from readers such as "How did you view rival works during the serialization of Game Center Arashi?" and "Why wasn't there a sequel to Konnichiwa My Computer?" while incorporating anecdotes from that time. Some answers reach several thousand characters, and primary information on manga history is being born from his Q&A Box.

Practical content for those aspiring to the same profession is being created, such as methods for gathering input and how to approach projects.

Recommended ways to use the Question Box immediately after opening it

When you first open a Question Box, you might not receive questions right away. In such cases, we recommend asking yourself a few questions first. For example, you might want to start with questions like these:

・What is your morning routine?
・What is your favorite food?
・What is something you bought recently that you're happy with?
・Who has influenced you?
・Which article do you most want people to read?

By preparing just two or three questions and answers yourself, your page will have content from the start. We have prepared a list of questions as a hint for when you're stuck. We have posted a total of 100 questions divided by genre, so please choose the ones that suit you and make use of them.

Once you have opened your Question Box, please try posting "I've started a Question Box" on social media like X or Instagram, along with the URL to your Question Box. This can be the trigger for receiving your first question from a reader.

It is also recommended to post the URL to your Question Box in your social media profile with a note saying "Ask questions here."

To all readers

The creators you read regularly might have opened a Question Box. If you visit their creator page and see the Question Box icon, you can send them a question directly.

Feel free to ask things you wouldn't normally be able to ask. Your question might just be the spark for their next article.

Please let us know your opinions and requests

The note Question Box (beta) is starting with simple question and answer functionality. During the early access period, we received feedback such as "I want integration with note articles," "I would be happy if I could charge for answers," and "I want categorization and sorting features," and we are considering these for development. We plan to expand the features gradually based on the usage and feedback from our creators.

Please send your thoughts and feedback on using the Question Box here.
