The simple interface remains, but the features are powered up! Your article editing screen is getting a new look
The article editing screen (editor) is where you first output your thoughts—whether it's for publishing works, jotting down quick notes, or creating presentation tools for clients—making it the "starting point of creation" for all creators.
Based on over 1,000 pieces of user feedback received during the approximately 9-month beta period, we have made continuous updates and have now officially released the new version of the editing screen (new editor).
Starting today, the article editing screen for all creators will switch to the new version! (*)
We are still collecting requests and feedback as we continue to make updates! In this article, we will introduce the new ways of expression and operational changes now possible with the new editing screen.
(*) On note, creators can choose their preferred method to post from five types: text, images, tweets, audio, and video. This time, we have performed a major renewal of the article editing features for text posts. Please note that for the time being, it is still possible to switch back to the old version.
Powered-up editing features
The interface remains extremely simple, but we have powered up the features to support a wider range of expressions. It can be used on all devices, including apps.
Web browser (PC)
Web browser (smartphone)
iOS app (version 5.19.0 or later)
Android app (version 2.5.0 or later)
In addition to making it easier to write articles, we have redesigned and implemented it from scratch with an eye toward features we want to realize in the future. We will pick up and introduce 19 of the new features.
All new features are here
1. Subheadings
The previous heading is now a main heading, and a new subheading has been added. This expands your range of expression when changing topics or wanting to emphasize text.

2. Bulleted/Numbered lists
Type "-" followed by a half-width space for a bulleted list, or "1." followed by a half-width space for a numbered list. You can also set them from the "Bulleted list" or "Numbered list" options within the + button on the left, or by dragging over the text you want to change. This is convenient when you want to organize points or explain steps.

3. Citing sources
You can also use this when quoting passages from novels, lines from movies, or favorite text from articles written by other creators. Including a URL for the source increases the credibility of the information, so please make use of it.
To enable everyone to start and continue creating.
4. Divider line
When you want to separate content in your article, you can now use a divider line. You can set it from the "Divider line" option within the + button on the left. It also supports Markdown syntax (---).
You can use it like this when you want to separate the content of your article.
5. Image description (caption)
You can now add a description to supplement the content of an image. When you enter a description, it will be displayed as shown below.

↳ Like this, you can include supplementary information for images.
You can also add line breaks
wherever you like.
6. Markdown shortcuts and keyboard shortcuts
Markdown shortcuts make it easier to use headings (## ), quotes (> ), etc., and keyboard shortcuts make operations like Undo (Ctrl + Z) and Redo (Ctrl + Y) easier.
All shortcuts are availablehere

7. Intuitive movement of text, images, etc.
You can now move elements within the text by dragging and dropping. For text, it also supports keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + Shift + Up/Down keys), allowing for intuitive operation.

Changes from the old version
1. How to perform line breaks and paragraph breaks
Since the old version required keys other than Enter to perform a line break, we have changed it so that you can perform a line break by pressing only Enter in the new version.
Old version: Press Enter once for a paragraph break / Press Shift + Enter for a line break
New version: Press Enter once for a line break / Press Enter twice for a paragraph break
2. How to set headings
We received feedback asking to "make only a portion of the text a heading," so we have changed it so that you can set only the selected text as a heading.
Old version: Sets all text in the selected paragraph as a heading
New version: Sets only the selected text portion as a heading
